SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) Trae Broadnax made the go-ahead layup with 1.5 seconds left in South Carolina Upstate's 74-72 win against Presbyterian on Wednesday night.

After Presbyterian's Kory Mincy hit a 3-pointer to tie it with 10 seconds to go, Broadnax drove the length of the court and scored with 1.5 seconds left. Presbyterian's halfcourt heave at the buzzer wasn't far off the mark.

Nick Alves had 13 points for the Spartans (10-19, 5-11 Big South Conference). Jalen Breazeale scored 12 points while going 5 of 7 from the field, and added seven assists. Justin Bailey was 3 of 6 shooting, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 5 from the line to finish with 11 points.

The Blue Hose (13-17, 5-10) were led in scoring by Mincy, who finished with 17 points. Samage Teel added 14 points for Presbyterian. In addition, Trevon Reddish had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
