The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will look to avenge an earlier loss to the Arkansas State Red Wolves when they meet in the first round of the 2023 Sun Belt Tournament on Tuesday. The Red Wolves (12-19, 4-14 Sun Belt), who placed 13th in the conference standings, have won three of the last five meetings with Coastal Carolina, including a 73-57 win at Jonesboro, Ark., on Feb. 4. The Chanticleers (11-19, 5-13), who placed 12th in the league, are looking to snap a three-game losing skid. Both teams have struggled down the stretch. Arkansas State is 3-14 over its last 17 games, while Coastal Carolina is 1-10 in its last 11.

The game from the Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla., will tip off at 6 p.m. ET. Arkansas State is averaging 65.3 points per game, while Coastal Carolina averages 73.5. Senior guard Linton Brown has provided a spark off the bench, although he has started six of his 28 games played. The St. Bonaventure transfer is averaging 8.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and nearly one assist per game. He has reached double-figure scoring in five of his past nine games, including 19 points at James Madison. He is nearly automatic from the free-throw line, connecting on 85.7% of his foul shots.

Junior guard Caleb Fields has been red hot of late. He scored 19 points in the first meeting with the Chanticleers and has scored in double figures in each of the last three games. He nearly produced a triple-double on Friday in the win at Louisiana Monroe, scoring 15 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists. He has one double-double on the season, a 17-point and 10-assist effort in an 87-78 overtime loss to Marshall on Jan. 21.

Senior forward Omar El-Sheikh has also been solid of late. He has reached double-figure scoring in each of the last five games, and registered four double-doubles in that stretch. For the season, he has 11 double-doubles. He scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Wednesday's loss at Louisiana. In 28.2 minutes per game, he is averaging 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
