Texas vs. Rice: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game

The Texas Longhorns will host the Rice Owls to start their respective 2023 campaigns. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. ET on September 2nd at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field.

Rice were ranked 130th in the nation in throwing interceptions last season, with 20 over the course of the season. Texas, on the other hand, had no problem: they finished last season ranked 21st with seven in total.

Rice will be fighting an uphill battle on Saturday as the experts have pegged them as the 35.5-point underdog. They finished last season with a 7-6 record against the spread.

That disadvantage in the odds might be especially worrying for Rice considering the team was a sub-par 2-6 as the underdog last season. A bettor who placed a $100 dollar bet on them to lose every one of the 13 games they played last year would have netted $931.85. Texas will open their season as the favorite, and the team was 8-3 as such last season.
