Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Free agency looms
Claypool secured four of seven targets for 26 yards across nine appearances with the Dolphins during the 2023 regular season. He also secured four of 14 targets for 51 yards and one score across four games with the Bears.
Claypool is coming off a disastrous 2023 campaign, having failed to put anything of note together with Miami after an early season trade out of Chicago. He did contribute on special teams for 102 snaps during the regular season with the Dolphins, and it's possible the team still has limited intrigue in his developmental upside, but at this stage in his career there are no guarantees Claypool draws any real interest on the free-agent market. His four-year rookie contract ends this offseason.

Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Can't finish on deep ball
Claypool failed to secure his only target during Sunday's 56-19 loss to the Ravens.
Claypool was targeted in the end zone on a deep pass from Tua Tagovailoa (shoulder) late in the third quarter, but despite initially securing the ball, he wasn't able to complete a catch. Reports about Claypool's performance in practice have picked up recently, but even with Jaylen Waddle (ankle) sidelined Sunday, the four-year veteran hasn't yet managed to make a splash in a Dolphins uniform. Pending Waddle's status, Claypool could see some offensive involvement again during a crucial Week 18 divisional matchup against the Bills.

Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Ready for Sunday
Claypool (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Claypool logged a limited practice session both Wednesday and Thursday, but he was able to practice without limitations Friday, and it now seems as if he's moved past his knee issue. The 2020 second-round pick has been inactive for four of the Dolphins' seven games since getting traded to Miami, and he'll at least be available for Sunday's contest.

Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Still working through injury
Claypool (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Claypool hasn't played since Week 9 with the injury and will likely head into the weekend questionable again. However, if he's able to ramp up his activity level Thursday or Friday, he could still suit up Sunday against the Commanders.

Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Inactive versus Jets
Claypool (knee) is inactive for Friday's game against the Jets.
Claypool, who the Dolphins had listed as questionable for the contest, will sit out Friday after he managed nothing more than limited participation in practice this week. With just one catch for 15 yards on two targets in three games with Miami so far, the 2020 second-round draft pick is off the fantasy radar for now.
