Drury won't start and will only be available to pinch hit Wednesday and Thursday against the Rays due to left hamstring tightness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Drury may still be used as supplementary help with batting, but he will miss his third straight start come Thursday. Though his ability to still pinch hit if necessary is encouraging, the Angels are being cautious with the 31-year-old's hamstring issue, and it is still unknown if he will return to the field Friday against the Reds.... Angels' Brandon Drury: Out again Wednesday
Drury (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Tampa Bay, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Drury will miss a second straight start with a hamstring issue. He declared himself available to play off the bench Tuesday, so it would seem fair to call Drury day-to-day. The Angels will deploy Luis Rengifo at second base and Nolan Schanuel at first base Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Available off bench
Drury (hamstring) said he will be available off the bench Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Drury is not in the lineup after having to exit Monday's game with a hamstring issue. However, he tested out the hamstring with a pregame workout and contends that he's fine to play, if needed. Luis Rengifo is at second base Tuesday and Miguel Sano is at first.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Sitting out with hamstring issue
Drury is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays after exiting Monday's contest with a hamstring injury, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. It's unclear at this point whether it could potentially be a multi-game absence for Drury, who was lifted for a pinch runner Monday following his last plate appearance. For now, consider him day-to-day. Luis Rengifo is handling second base Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Belts first homer of 2024
Drury went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox. Drury notched his first home run of 2024, tagging starter Brayan Bello for a solo shot in the second inning. Sunday's contest also marked Drury's second multi-hit game of the season. The second baseman has logged a hit in five of his last six games but still owns a poor .196 batting average through 14 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Sitting Saturday
Drury isn't in the Angels' lineup for Saturday's contest against the Red Sox, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Drury will get a breather Saturday after slashing .160/.250/.160 through his first seven games. Luis Rengifo (head) will return to cover second base while batting seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Returns to lineup Saturday
Drury (illness) went 1-for-1 with a walk in Saturday's Cactus League contest versus the Cubs. Prior to Saturday, Drury hadn't played in a game since Monday due to an illness. His ability to return to the lineup against Chicago suggests that he's past the issue and won't have any problem being ready for Opening Day. Drury is expected to serve as the Angels' everyday second basemen during the coming campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Off to slow start this spring
Drury is slashing .125/.263/.125 with an RBI and a 2:7 BB:K through 18 Cactus League plate appearances. Both of Drury's hits so far have been singles, and he's struck out in over one-third of his plate appearances. The slow start shouldn't be a major concern, however, given his veteran status and recent regular-season consistency. Drury is coming off back-to-back solid campaigns in which he hit a combined 54 homers and drove in a combined 170 runs. He's slated for an everyday role in the Angels' infield again this season and should be among the team's primary sources of power.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Swats two homers in win

Drury opened things up with a first-inning home run and added on with a two-run shot to right center in the fifth. He finishes the 2023 campaign slashing .262/.306/.497 with 26 homers, 83 RBI, 61 runs and a 25:136 BB:K in 523 plate appearances. His home run and RBI totals trailed only Shohei Ohtani for the team lead despite Drury missing seven weeks due to injury. The 30-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Halos before the season, although it's possible the team ships him off to a contender with rumors swirling that a rebuild might be in the works.... Drury went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run in Monday's 8-5 extra-innings win over the Mariners. Drury put the Angels ahead 5-3 in the 10th inning, though Julio Rodriguez answered a half-inning later. The infielder is at a .259/.300/.480 slash line with 21 long balls, 69 RBI, 52 runs scored, 24 doubles and three triples over 109 games.... See More ... See Less -

The long ball was his 20th of the campaign, marking the second straight season he's reached that number. Prior to last year, Drury hadn't hit more than 16 home runs in any of his seven big-league seasons.... See More ... See Less -

The long ball was the 19th of the campaign for Drury, the second-highest total of his career behind last season's 28. Over 23 games in August, Drury slashed .245/.258/.447 with five homers, 19 RBI and 11 runs.... See More ... See Less -

Drury went 4-for-8 with two home runs, a walk, three total runs and four total RBI in Saturday's doubleheader split versus the Rays. Drury knocked a big solo homer in Game 1 that provided what proved to be the decisive run, then belted a late three-run shot in a landslide loss in Game 2.
