  • Jazz's Jordan Clarkson: Ruled out for Wednesday

Clarkson won't play Wednesday against the Spurs due to lower back soreness, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. The injury is a new one for Clarkson, but it's no surprise to see the Jazz err on the side of caution with him while the team is effectively out of the mix for the playoffs. With Kris Dunn also sitting out while serving the final game of a two-game suspension, Johnny Juzang, Brice Sensabaugh and Kira Lewis could pick up some extra minutes on the wing and in the backcourt.

  • Jazz's Jordan Clarkson: Rough night in return

Clarkson (groin) provided four points (0-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight assists and four rebounds across 33 minutes in Monday's 115-105 loss to Dallas. Clarkson didn't face any limitations in his return from a six-game absence due to a right groin strain, but the empty showing from the field resulted in a disappointing fantasy line. Even though Clarkson is ostensibly healthy, the 29-43 Jazz are out of playoff contention and have shown an inclination to rest players with minor injuries at this stage of the season, so it wouldn't be surprising if the 31-year-old guard had more absences in his future.

Clarkson (groin) won't play in Friday's game against the Hawks. Clarkson didn't practice Wednesday due to the groin injury, so it's not surprising to see him out Friday. His availability for the second half of the back-to-back against the Timberwolves should be in question as well. Talen Horton-Tucker and Johnny Juzang are candidates to pick up more minutes on the wing with Clarkson sidelined Friday.

  • Jazz's Jordan Clarkson: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Clarkson didn't participate in Wednesday's practice due to a right groin injury, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Clarkson presumably suffered the injury at some point in Tuesday's loss to Boston, during which he finished with 21 points (10-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two assists and one seal over 34 minutes. If Clarkson is unable to suit up for Friday's matchup with Atlanta, Talen Horton-Tucker and Kris Dunn could receive increased playing time.

The veteran guard led all scorers on the night as he nearly single-handedly carried the shorthanded Jazz to a victory, and he was especially clutch down the stretch. With the game tied 113-113 in the fourth quarter, Clarkson went on an incredible 12-0 run that put the game away for Utah. The double-double was also his career-high sixth of the season, with half of those coming since the beginning of February.

Clarkson provided 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 138-122 loss to the Lakers. Clarkson led all bench players in Wednesday's contest in scoring, threes made and assists while ending as one of seven Jazz players with a double-digit point total in a losing effort. • Jazz's Jordan Clarkson: Surpasses 20-point mark

Clarkson accumulated 22 points (7-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block over 33 minutes during Monday's 129-107 loss to Golden State. Clarkson has been a steady source of scoring for the Jazz this season regardless of his bench role, and he has posted double-digit scoring numbers in each of his last nine appearances. He might be scoring 14.7 points per game in that span, but he needs to improve his efficiency, as he's hitting just 38.8 percent of his shots during that aforementioned stretch, including 24 percent of his threes.

It's the fourth double-double of the season for the veteran sixth man and just the 13th of his 10-year career. Clarkson's offensive contributions remain rock-solid -- he's scored in double digits in 13 of the last 14 games, averaging 18.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.0 boards and 1.6 threes over that stretch in 30.6 minutes a contest.
