The Lions are releasing Levy, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Limited to just six appearances over the last two seasons, Levy has been unable to make good on the four-year, $37 million contract he signed before the 2015 campaign. The Lions may still have interest in retaining him at a reduced price, as Levy was an elite performer in 2013 and 2014, tallying 270 tackles and seven interceptions while playing in all 32 games. He'll turn 30 in late March.
