  • Rams' Troy Reeder: Sitting out wild-card contest

Reeder (knee) is inactive for Sunday's wild-card game against the Lions, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports. Reeder gave himself a shot at playing Sunday after participating in Friday's practice in a limited capacity, but he did not make enough progress to suit up. He finished the regular season with 23 tackles (11 solo) over 17 games while playing on special teams and on defense in a depth linebacker role. In Reeder's absence, Jake Hummel and Olakunle Fatukasi will have more opportunities to get snaps for Sunday's game.

  • Rams' Troy Reeder: Chance to play in wild card

Reeder (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports. Reeder sustained a knee injury during Los Angeles' regular-season finale, but despite a week of practice that included two DNPs, he has a chance to play Sunday. If the 29-year-old can't suit up for the Rams' wild-card outing, expect Jake Hummel to see increased work as the team's top reserve inside linebacker.

  • Chargers' Troy Reeder: Signs one-year deal with Chargers

Reeder signed a one-year contract with the Chargers on Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. Reeder appeared in all 17 regular-season games (10 starts) for the Rams last season, but they opted not to tender the linebacker, which would've allowed them to match the offer he got from the Chargers. Regardless, the undrafted linebacker out of Delaware now will join the other team in Los Angeles and attempt to bolster what was a porous run defense from a year ago.

  • Rams' Troy Reeder: Posts season-high tackle total

Reeder recorded 11 tackles (three solo) during Monday's 31-10 loss to San Francisco. He also led all Los Angeles linebackers in defensive snaps. The third-year linebacker has picked up an impressive 28 tackles (11 solo) through the past four games, and that includes his two-tackle showing last week. While Reeder might not be a must-start option in IDP settings, he's proving to have a respectable fantasy floor, and his playing time is on the rise. Just note, Los Angeles is on a bye this week, and Reeder might not be worth a bench stash.

Reeder recorded a team-high 13 tackles (eight solo) in a 30-29 loss to the Seahawks on Thursday. The rookie linebacker saw 54 defensive snaps Thursday, a week after playing just 18. The uptick in usage is certainly an encouraging development for Reeder after he was originally viewed as a long shot to make the Rams out of camp. Los Angeles is also dealing with a plethora of injuries at the linebacker position, which has also affected Reeder's usage in the last two weeks.
