Granson caught his lone target for 23 yards in Saturday's 23-19 loss to the Texans.
Granson finished the season in quiet fashion, catching just one pass for the third time in the Colts' last four contests. In 15 appearances this season, the 25-year-old tight end recorded just 30 receptions for 368 yards and one touchdown. The Colts spread out the snaps and targets liberally among their tight ends in 2024, capping Granson's potential to produce consistently meaningful numbers for fantasy purposes. Entering the final year of his contract in 2024, Granson will hope to establish a more prominent role in the Colts' offensive plans, though he could face another threat to his playing time in Jelani Woods (hamstring), who saw plenty of involvement as a rookie in 2022 before having his entire 2023 campaign wiped out by injury.

Granson played on 35 of the offense's 56 snaps but went out on only 16 routes as the Colts ran the ball with a lead most of the game. Mo Alie-Cox drew the start at tight end and caught two passes, but no tight end was a big factor in the passing game. The Colts continue to divide targets among three or more tight ends heading into the season finale against the Texans.

Granson brought in five of seven targets for 62 yards in the Colts' 29-10 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
Granson led the Colts in receiving yards while checking in second in receptions and tying for the runner-up spot in targets as well. The tight end's surprisingly productive day seemed to be largely the byproduct of the absence of pass-catching back Zack Moss (arm) and top receiver Michael Pittman (concussion), although the matchup against a Falcons defense that's given up plenty of production to his position all season didn't hurt his chances. Granson's reception and target tallies were also season highs, but whether he can come close to replicating it in a Week 17 home matchup against the Raiders is highly speculative considering how erratic the Colts' usage of their tight ends has been.

Granson started at tight end (along with Mo Alie-Cox in a two-TE formation) and had two receptions for 17 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss at Cincinnati.
Granson started and played the most snaps among tight ends, but Will Mallory had bigger numbers in the passing game (five receptions for 46 yards). The Colts spread out playing time fairly evenly among tight ends, as Mallory played on 20 of the offense's 62 snaps, while starter Granson played on 24 snaps, Drew Ogletree played on 17 snaps, and Mo Alie-Cox played on 19 snaps (and caught a TD). While Granson is the starter and has five catches his last two games, he's also had two or fewer receptions in seven of 11 games this season.

Granson started at tight end, but Drew Ogletree and Mo Alie-Cox had a similar workload. Granson played 24 snaps on offense, while Ogletree played 28 and Alie-Cox played 24. Will Mallory also logged 13 snaps. All four tight ends went on between 12 to 13 routes. Granson had the most receptions while Mallory had four targets (two receptions). While Granson had the most yardage, it looks like a pretty equal split between four tight ends in the offense. It's hard to forecast any of them having consistent roles in the passing game as a result.

Granson, who last suited up Week 6, is thus slated to reenter the Colts' tight end mix following a two-game absence. In the six contests he's been available for this season, he's caught 16 of his 26 targets for 170 yards and a TD, though in his last outing Oct. 15 versus the Jaguars, the 2021 fourth-rounder hauled in three of his four targets for a season-high 67 yards. In his return to action, however, Granson profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option, with fellow TEs Drew Ogletree, Mo Alie-Cox and Will Mallory also available this weekend.

The closest match in terms of skill set is Mallory, who has taken 10 of his 20 snaps in the slot this year, whereas Ogletree and Alie-Cox have gotten far more playing time but predominantly as in-line tight ends (84.1 percent of snaps inline for Ogletree, 90.1 percent for Alie-Cox).

Jelani Woods and Mo Alie-Cox split the snaps and routes at tight end, with Woods getting a few more routes and tying for second on the team with five targets. It's possible Woods gets more of the workload this Sunday at the Giants, considering he previously had a big game (eight catches for 98 yards) when Granson was out Week 12 against the Steelers.
