  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Could be done in Indy

Alie-Cox is scheduled for $5.9 million in non-guaranteed compensation for 2024, making him a candidate to be released this offseason, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. He's entering the final year of his contract and will turn 31 in September. Alie-Cox has long been the Colts' best blocking tight end and has 14 touchdowns among his 102 career receptions, so it won't be surprising if he ends up sticking around, possibly via a contract extension or renegotiated contract. Kylen Granson, Will Mallory, Jelani Woods and Andrew Ogletree are all more likely to operate as the team's top receiving threat at tight end in 2024, though it's been a long time since the Colts had a true No. 1 option rather than taking a committee approach to the position.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Finds end zone thrice in 2023

Alie-Cox secured 13 of 22 targets for 161 yards and three touchdowns across 17 regular-season games with the Colts in 2023. Alie-Cox handled his usual depth role with Indianapolis in 2023, as has been usual throughout his six-year NFL career. His yardage total for this past season was the lowest since 2019, but Alie-Cox's occasional red-zone deployment remained steady. The Colts do have a potential 'out' from Alie-Cox's contract this offseason with zero dead cap for the team, so it seems all but guaranteed that the big-bodied tight end will need to either restructure his deal or be cut.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Two receptions in win

Alie-Cox had two receptions for 18 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over the Raiders. Alie-Cox started at tight end and played on 34 of the offense's 56 snaps but went out on just 13 routes. He was mostly used as a run blocker (18 snaps) as the Colts played with a lead most of the game. Despite the two receptions, he isn't a huge factor in the passing attack, as he's been held without a catch seven times in 15 games.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: No receptions in loss

Alie-Cox did not have a reception on his only target in Sunday's loss at Atlanta. Alie-Cox had scored a touchdown in consecutive weeks, but he didn't have a reception for the seventh time in 15 games. He isn't involved much in the passing game outside of an occasional red-zone target.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Gets third TD

Alie-Cox had two reception for 21 yards on four targets, including an 18-yard touchdown, in Saturday's win over Pittsburgh. It was Alie-Cox's week to lead the tight ends in receiving even though he went out on the third-most routes at the postion. Drew Ogletree played on 38 of the offense's 67 snaps, while Alie-Cox played on 35 snaps, Kylen Granson logged 20 and Will Mallory played eight. Alie-Cox went out for a pass on 11 plays, while Olgetree and Granson recorded 12 routes and Mallory ran seven. With Indy dividing up usage among tight ends between four players almost randomly each week, none are reliable. However, Alie-Cox has caught a touchdown in consecutive weeks and has three overall this season.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Scores second TD

Alie-Cox had one reception for a two-yard touchdown on his lone target in Sunday's loss at Cincinnati. It as Alie-Cox's second touchdown of the season. He's rarely a factor in the passing game, however, with just seven receptions in 13 games. He's mostly a blocking tight end these days.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Makes 30-yard catch

Alie-Cox had one reception for 30 yards on his lone target in Sunday's 27-20 win over Tampa Bay. Alie-Cox broke wide open off a run fake on fourth down for a key first down late in the game. It was a rare showing in the passing game for Alie-Cox, who has just three receptions in his last six games. It's not likely to start a trend, as he's almost exclusively become a blocking tight end.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Ready for Sunday

Alie-Cox (concussion) was cleared of his injury designation Saturday and will be available Sunday against the Jaguars. Alie-Cox won't end up missing any time after clearing the five-step concussion protocol following his exit from last Sunday's win over the Titans with the brain injury. He's seen his playing time slip in 2023 with the likes of Kylen Granson and Drew Ogletree taking on expanded roles in the Colts' tight-end rotation, but the big-bodied Alie-Cox should still be a candidate for looks in the red zone.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Limited Thursday

Alie-Cox (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Alie-Cox suffered a concussion during the Colts' Week 5 win over the Titans, and he went from no participation in Wednesday's practice to limited work Thursday. The 30-year-old tight end seems to be trending in the right direction to play in this coming Sunday against Jacksonville, but he'll still have to clear the league's five-step protocol before he's cleared to take the field.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Sidelined at practice Wednesday

Alie-Cox (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Alie-Cox is working his way through the league's five-step concussion protocol after being forced out of Sunday's win over the Titans. He will need to gain full clearance before returning to game action, so the depth tight end's status should be considered up in the air for Week 6 versus Jacksonville.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Being evaluated for concussion

Alie-Cox is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Tennessee, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Alie-Cox slammed his head on the turf after making a catch in the second half and subsequently went into the medical tent for evaluation. The 17-yard reception on which the tight end was injured was his only catch prior to departing.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Cleared from injury report

Alie-Cox (ankle) was a full participant during practice Thursday. Alie-Cox was a DNP on the Colts' estimated injury report Wednesday, but the 30-year-old didn't face any limitations day later. After scoring his first touchdown of the season in Week 4, he'll work to keep that momentum going Sunday against the Titans.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Gets first TD of season

Alie-Cox had one reception for a 35-yard touchdown in Sunday's overtime loss to the Rams. It was just Alie-Cox's second reception of the season as he's become a minor factor in the passing game. Although he and Drew Ogletree were the starters in a two-tight end set over Kylen Granson, Alie-Cox played on just 17 of the offense's 64 snaps and went out on four routes.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Misses game with foot injury

Alie-Cox (foot) did not play in Saturday's preseason loss at Buffalo. Alie-Cox missed practice last week due to a foot injury and was spotted on the sidelines at practice wearing a boot. The severity of his injury isn't clear and there's no timetable for his return to practice.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Fades in second half of season

Alie-Cox had one reception for four yards on his lone target in Sunday's loss to Houston. Alie-Cox entered 2022 as a potential sleeper tight end and red-zone target, but his production declined in almost every area. He had just 19 receptions for 189 yards and three touchdowns. He was also phased out of the offense in the second half of 2022 with just six receptions and 10 targets over his last eight games.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Minimal role in passing attack

Alie-Cox caught one of two targets for two yards during Monday's 20-3 defeat versus the Chargers. Alie-Cox saw 10 fewer snaps than Jelani Woods, and the former failed to make an impact in the passing game again. Woods, a rookie third-round pick, has caught 14 of 19 targets for 205 yards over his past four games and appears to have surpassed Alie-Cox on the depth chart. Alie-Cox's playing time figures to drop even more if Kylen Granson (ankle) returns to action before the end of the campaign.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Loses fumble on lone reception

Alie-Cox had one reception for six yards on his lone target but lost a fumble in Sunday's loss to Dallas. Kylen Granson started at tight end and played more snaps than Alie-Cox (41 to 31). Alie-Cox was also third in routes run among the tight ends, as Granson had 22 and Jelani Woods had 12, compared to Alie-Cox's 10. Given Alie-Cox had a key fumble, he's likely to be the third option among the tight ends in the passing game when Indy returns from its bye week.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Two receptions in loss

Alie-Cox had two receptions for 14 yards on three targets in Monday's loss to Pittsburgh. Alie-Cox got the start at tight end and played 22 snaps on offense, but was outperformed by rookie Jelani Woods, who had eight receptions for 98 yards on 39 snaps. It's possible Woods takes over as the primary tight end target after this breakout game, but all three Colts tight ends have had their moments this season, including Kylen Granson, who was out Monday with an illness. Alie-Cox isn't a dependable fantasy asset and isn't even getting many red zone looks despite his size -- he's 6-5, but Woods is 6-7.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Targeted once in Week 11

Alie-Cox caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Eagles. With fellow tight end Jelani Woods (shoulder) inactive, Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson were each targeted only once. Since racking up a season-high 85 yards in Week 4, Alie-Cox has mustered only 34 yards over seven subsequent games.

  • Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Suits up Sunday

Alie-Cox (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Alie-Cox missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but returned to a limited session Friday, setting the stage for him to be available Sunday. The tight end recorded a 6-85-2 receiving line in Week 4, but apart from that Alie-Cox hasn't hauled in more than two passes in any game this season while working in a timeshare with Kylen Granson and Jelani Woods (shoulder). With Woods out Sunday, Alie-Cox could see added opportunities alongside Granson (with Nikola Kalinic in reserve), but he still profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option.
