  • Packers' Eric Wilson: Staying in Green Bay

The Packers re-signed Wilson on Friday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The veteran linebacker spent each of the last two seasons with the Packers, and he'll remain in Green Bay for the immediate future after re-signing with the team Friday. Wilson has seen limited work on defense during his time in Green Bay, but he's been an integral part of the Packers' special-teams unit. Over the last two years, Wilson has logged more special-teams snaps (308) and tackles (25) than any other Packer. Expect the 30-year-old to continue serving as an essential part of the team's special-teams unit in 2024.

  • Packers' Eric Wilson: Steps into larger role in Week 17

Wilson finished Sunday's 33-10 win over the Vikings with six tackles (three solo). Wilson stepped into the starting inside linebacker role alongside Quay Walker after Isaiah McDuffie was forced out of Sunday's game due to a concussion. McDuffie drew the start in Week 17 after De'Vondre Campbell was ruled out ahead of the game with a neck injury. If neither McDuffie or Campbell are able to progress through practice leading up to Week 18 against the Bears, Wilson could be in line to draw the start at inside linebacker alongside Walker.

Despite playing just 68 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 2, Wilson was one of three Eagles players to hit double-digit stops. Through two games, he has registered 18 tackles (seven solo). He should be a sturdy IDP option as long as his playing time doesn't drop further.
