Bryant started at safety during Thursday's preseason win over the Vikings, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Bryant also lined up in the box and impressed head coach Pete Carroll with his ability to make reads and cover ground. Carroll thinks that safety will "be a good spot for [Bryant]." The Cincinnati product came into the league as a cornerback, so there may be some growing pains. However, Bryant could get an immediate opportunity to start if Jamal Adams (quadriceps), who is still on the PUP list, isn't ready for Week 1. Bryant is expected to start the 2022 season as the Seahawks' starting nickel corner, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. The Seahawks traded Ugo Amadi to the Eagles earlier in August and cut both Marquise Brown -- a 2019 second-round pick -- and Justin Coleman on Tuesday. The Seahawks selected Bryant in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 109th overall. Bryant joins the Seahawks after five seasons at Cincinnati, where he played across from Ahmad Gardner, who went fourth overall to the Jets. Bryant performed well in his final season, earning First Team All-American honors while recording 46 tackles, a team-high 14 pass breakups and three interceptions.
