  • Ndamukong Suh: In no hurry to sign new deal

Suh is unlikely to sign with a team ahead of training camp, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports. "I have no desire to be in a training camp," Suh said Monday on NFL Total Access. "I will come in and watch and look and give some advice, but when Week 1 happens, I'll be ready." The 36-year-old was the No. 2 overall pick in 2010 by the Lions and has played for five different teams during his first 13 NFL seasons. He's been to three Super Bowls over the past five seasons and figures to be a luxury depth option for a contending team after appearing in eight games for the Eagles in 2022.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Tests positive for COVID-19

Suh (illness) has tested positive for COVID-19, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports. Suh was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier Saturday and did not travel with the team to Houston. After confirmation of a positive test, his route back to Tampa Bay's roster is difficult. The 34-year-old may be able to clear protocols in time for the season opener Aug. 9, but his conditioning may be impacted by the illness.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Ties season high in tackles

Suh totaled five tackles (four solo), including one for loss, and also recorded a quarterback hit in the Buccaneers' 27-24 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. The big defensive tackle tied his season high with Sunday's tackle tally. Suh has multiple stops in four of the last five games overall, and his four sacks leave him just two short of his best total over the last five seasons. Suh's interior-line spot does lend some uncertainty to his week-to-week production, but he's arguably more of a threat to get to the quarterback than many other players at his position.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Gets to quarterback in win

Suh recorded a sack for his one tackle in the Buccaneers' 38-10 win over the Packers on Sunday. The big defensive tackle took down old nemesis Aaron Rodgers for his third sack of the season, renewing acquaintances with his old NFC North rival from Suh's days with the Lions. Suh's three QB takedowns through six games currently have him on pace to tie the third-best tally (eight) of his career in that category, one season after he posted a career-low 2.5 but offset it with a career-high two touchdowns and four fumble recoveries. Suh's single-game tackle numbers rarely go above five these days, but he always offers the possibility of wreaking havoc in the pocket with his athleticism and potentially producing a turnover.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Records pair of sacks in win

Suh totaled five tackles (four solo), including two sacks, in the Buccaneers' 31-17 win over the Panthers on Sunday. The veteran lineman was in vintage form in the win versus the Panthers, nearly matching his sack total of 2.5 from last season in one afternoon. Suh's performance was a significant upgrade from a season-opening tally of just one tackle versus the Saints, and he'll look to keep pushing in the right direction against a Broncos team that might afford him plenty of run-stopping opportunities Week 3.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Fully expected to play Week 1

Suh's absence from practice Friday was confirmed to simply be a veteran's day off, and the defensive tackle is fully expected to start in Sunday's Week 1 tilt against the Saints, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports. Suh's presence on the injury report may look alarming on the surface, but Vitali's explanation confirms the big tackle was simply getting some rest ahead of the Buccaneers' highly anticipated season opener. The 33-year-old re-signed with the club on a one-year, $8 million deal this offseason after posting 41 tackles (22 solo), 2.5 sacks, four pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns across 16 games in 2019.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Serviceable first season in Tampa

Suh finished the 2019 season with 41 tackles (22 solo), 2.5 sacks, four defensed passes, four fumble recoveries, including two that he returned for touchdowns, across 16 games. The final line features an impressive array of impact plays, but it's worth noting Suh's 2019 season was largely a tale of two halves. The veteran had just a half-sack and one fumble recovery heading into a Week 10 battle against the Cardinals, but Suh then accumulated two sacks, four pass breakups, and his three other fumble recoveries, including the two he returned for scores, over the final eight contests of the campaign. The sack total was a career-low figure for Suh, who also posted his lowest tackle tally since the 2013 season. Part of the downturn could have been attributed to an acclimation period to coordinator Todd Bowles' 3-4 scheme, and, as a pending unrestricted free agent this March, the 33-year-old will have an opportunity to potentially find a better fit in a 4-3 attack elsewhere in 2020.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: More impact plays Week 15

Suh recorded three tackles (two solo), including one sack, and was credited with two quarterback hits overall in the Buccaneers' 38-17 win over the Lions on Sunday. Suh is still set for a cumulative downturn in his numbers this season, but he's at least picking up steam as his first campaign in Tampa winds down. Suh's sack Sunday was his first since Week 10, and it counted as his third impact play on defense over the last four contests after he also recorded a pair of fumble recoveries, including one he returned for a touchdown, in Weeks 12 and 13.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Another fumble recovery

Suh recorded two tackles (one solo) and recovered a fumble in the Buccaneers' 28-11 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. Suh continued to demonstrate a penchant for bouncing on loose footballs Sunday, with his recovery of a second-quarter Nick Foles fumble marking the veteran defensive tackle's career-high fourth of the campaign. Suh has helped make up for his notable downturn in sacks (1.5 sacks through 12 games) with more impact plays, as he's returned half of the aforementioned quartet of recovered fumbles for touchdowns.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Disruptive in loss

Suh recorded four solo tackles, including two for loss, in the Buccaneers' 34-17 loss to the Saints on Sunday. Suh was also credited with a quarterback hit and has been more active overall in the last two games. The veteran tackle also had notched his first full sack of the season in Week 10 versus the Cardinals and has multiple stops in three straight overall. However, Suh remains well off pace of his usual tackle numbers, hurting his IDP value.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Picks up sack

Suh recorded two solo tackles and one sack in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Cardinals. Suh's first whole sack of the season brings him to 1.5 sacks and 19 tackles through nine games, an underwhelming statistical line in comparison to his past years. The Buccaneers will take on the Saints at home in Week 11.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Collects half-sack in loss

Suh posted three tackles (two solo) and a half-sack in the Buccaneers' 37-26 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. Suh logged 49 snaps overall in the contest and was involved in a quarterback takedown for the first time as a Buc. The veteran tackle has multiple stops in four of six games, but his 13 total tackles thus far this season put him on pace for his lowest tally in that category since 2012.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Practices in full

Suh (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. A knee issue prevented Suh from taking part in Wednesday's practice, and he appears to have already resumed working in full capacity. Barring any setbacks, the veteran defensive tackle is on track for his usual starting role Sunday versus Carolina.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Scores late in win

Suh recorded two total tackles, two quarterback hits and a fumble returned for a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Rams. Suh's score served as the dagger in Sunday's win, as the Rams sat within a possession with 1:17 left in the game and the ball in Tampa Bay's territory. The 32-year-old has been quiet overall through the season's first four games, recording only seven tackles to pair with Sunday's scoop-and-score.

  • Buccaneers' Ndamukong Suh: Set to join Tampa Bay

Suh is finalizing a one-year deal with the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Just one day after the Buccaneers released defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who was owed $13 million in 2019, the team has found his replacement in Suh. The 32-year-old is coming off a 2018 campaign with 59 tackles (41 solo) and 4.5 sacks while appearing in every game for the Rams' Super Bowl run. He gives the Bucs an elite, durable pass rusher inside to help fill the void left by McCoy's release.

  • Ndamukong Suh: No future with Rams

Rams general manager Les Snead said Tuesday that re-signing Suh is "pretty much guaranteed to be off the table," Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. Suh's price tag is likely too rich for a Rams team that's down to about $5 million in cap space after adding Clay Matthews, Eric Weddle and Blake Bortles in free agency in recent weeks. Though he probably didn't perform as well as the Rams had hoped in his lone season with the team, Suh is arguably the best player available in free agency at this juncture and still profiles as an elite run defender. Durability is not a concern either for the 32-year-old, who has never missed a start due to injury in his nine-year career.

  • Rams' Ndamukong Suh: Expected to play Sunday

Suh (knee) is expected to play against the Packers on Sunday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. Suh popped up on the Rams' injury report with a knee injury and did not practice to begin the week, but it would appear that his status is not in jeopardy. Barring any setbacks, it seems the veteran defensive lineman is on track to play during Sunday's matchup against Green Bay.

  • Rams' Ndamukong Suh: Tallies first sack as a Ram

Suh posted three tackles (two solo), including a sack, and a pass defensed in Sunday's win over the Chargers. Suh was a premier addition to the Rams defense this offseason and has been a force alongside Aaron Donald on the interior of the defensive line. He's never posted fewer than four sacks in a season, and 2018 doesn't shape up as an exception thus far. He'll look to continue his strong play against the Vikings in Week 4.

  • Rams' Ndamukong Suh: Expected to play nose tackle

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Suh will play nose tackle in defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' 3-4 base defense, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports. After spending most of his career as a three-technique defensive tackle in 4-3 schemes, Suh is joining a 3-4 unit that already features Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers as the ends. It may take some time for Suh to get comfortable at nose tackle, but his combination of athleticism and tenacity ultimately should translate at any position along the interior line. None of this will be an issue when the Rams are in their nickel defense -- which should be well over half the time -- as Brockers can simply come off the field. Suh is signing a one-year, $14 million contract with Los Angeles, seemingly passing up larger offers for the chance to play on a stacked team. He'll still have plenty of chances to rush the quarterback, and the Giants' Damon Harrison has proven it's not impossible to pile up tackles from the nose spot.

  • Rams' Ndamukong Suh: Heading to Los Angeles

The Rams and Suh agreed to a one-year contract Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The arms race in the NFC continues with Suh's arrival in Los Angeles. According to Schefter, the deal is worth $14 million, which indicates Suh took less money to join a contender. Suh will team up with 2017 AP Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald to form a fearsome duo in the trenches. Working in conjunction with shut-down corners Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib, Suh is poised for a bounce back as he prepares for his age-31 season. In three years with the Dolphins, Suh averaged 60.3 tackles and 5.2 sacks per campaign while playing in all 48 regular-season contests.
