Wagner inked a professional tryout agreement with Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
Wagner had a goal and an assist in seven games with the Blackhawks last season. He also contributed nine goals, 12 points and 33 PIM in 24 AHL outings with Ontario. The 26-year-old will compete for a fourth-line spot during the Penguins' training camp.
