Hertl produced an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Hertl is up to four points over five games since he made his Vegas debut. The center set up a Brayden McNabb tally to open the scoring late in the second period. Hertl has 38 points, 122 shots on net, 58 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-26 rating through 53 appearances between the Golden Knights and the Sharks this season. Hertl looks poised to hold down a second-line role into the playoffs.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Pots OT winner

Hertl scored the overtime winner on the power play during Sunday's 4-3 victory over Colorado. The Vegas era of Hertl's career is young, but he's now got two goals and three points in four games. The change of scenery from a rebuilding Sharks team to the playoff-bound Golden Knights should prove beneficial for Hertl, now that he's recovered from a knee injury that cost him over two months.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: First goal with Vegas

Hertl scored a goal on two shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Friday's 7-2 win over the Wild. Hertl has a goal, an assist, 10 hits and a minus-1 rating over three appearances since he returned from a knee injury. The 30-year-old was again the second-line center even with Chandler Stephenson returning from a one-game personal absence -- Hertl took all the faceoffs for his line. The 30-year-old Hertl is at 36 points, 116 shots on net, 59 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-27 rating over 51 appearances this season -- it looks like he's fitting right in with his new team.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Grabs helper in debut

Hertl notched a power-play assist and four hits in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks. Hertl returned from a 26-game absence due to a knee injury, and he immediately stepped into a top-six role, logging 20:20 of ice time. The 30-year-old helped out on Noah Hanifin's second-period marker for Hertl's first point as a Golden Knight. Hertl is up to 35 points (10 on the power play) with 114 shots on net, 52 hits and a minus-27 rating over 49 appearances between Vegas and San Jose this season. He played as a winger Monday but still won six of nine faceoffs. Look for Hertl and Chandler Stephenson to essentially be interchangeable between center and left wing as long as they're on a line together.

Hertl (knee) will travel to Vancouver and could play Monday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Hertl will need to be activated from long-term injured reserve before suiting up but he's nearing a return and his Golden Knights debut. The 30-year-old scored 15 goals and 34 points in 48 games with the Sharks before he was traded to Vegas. Hertl should skate in a top-six role once he's healthy.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Skates in non-contact jersey

Hertl (knee) participated in Monday's practice in a non-contact jersey. Hertl will likely need to be cleared for contact and log at least one full practice before making his Golden Knights debut, but he's clearly trending in the right direction. The 30-year-old forward racked up 15 goals and 34 points through 48 games with San Jose before undergoing knee surgery in mid-February and subesequently being dealt to Vegas at the trade deadline.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Shifts to LTIR

Hertl (knee) was placed on long-term injured reserve Sunday, per CapFriendly. Vegas needed to create cap space to recall goaltender Jiri Patera from AHL Henderson on Sunday, so Hertl was moved from IR to LTIR. It's still unclear when Hertl will be able to make his Vegas debut after being acquired from the Sharks on March 8. Hertl hasn't played since Jan. 27 due to a knee injury, but he has been skating on his own recently.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Acquired by Golden Knights

Hertl, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury, was traded to Vegas from San Jose along with third-round selections in 2025 and 2027 on Friday in exchange for David Edstrom and a 2025 first-round pick. The Sharks will retain 17 percent of Hertl's cap hit, per Darren Dreger of TSN. Hertl, who is in just the second season of an eight-year, $65.1 million contract, will likely be moved to long-term injured reserve to help Vegas accommodate this trade. The 30-year-old hasn't played since Jan. 27 and underwent knee surgery Feb. 12. When Hertl is healthy, he will become a key figure in Vegas' top-six forward corps. He had 15 goals and 34 points in 48 outings with the Sharks before the trade.

  • Sharks' Tomas Hertl: Undergoes knee procedure

Hertl had surgery Monday to remove loose cartilage in his left knee and will be sidelined for multiple weeks. Hertl was already designated for injured reserve Monday, so this announcement shouldn't come as a surprise. Given his timeline and $8 million-plus cap hit, the center could be a strong candidate for long-term injured reserve, though the Sharks aren't expected to be buyers at the trade deadline anyway. At this point, Hertl is unlikely to reach the 60-point threshold, missing that mark for the first time since 2020-21. William Eklund could be tasked with a bigger role with Hertl shelved.

Hertl sat out two contests before participating in the All-Star Game in Toronto, but he has missed two straight practices following the break. • Sharks' Tomas Hertl: Completes comeback in overtime

Hertl scored the game-winning goal and added three shots on net in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers. Hertl tallied 1:29 into the extra session to complete the Sharks' comeback win. The 30-year-old has two goals and two assists over his last three games, and it's possible some of the opponents' attention may be off of Hertl now that Logan Couture is in the lineup. Hertl is up to 15 goals, 34 points, 112 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 38 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-25 rating through 47 appearances. He remains the Sharks' top overall forward.

  • Sharks' Tomas Hertl: Paces Sharks with two points

Hertl supplied an empty-net goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Ducks. Hertl leads the Sharks in points -- he's fashioned 14 goals and 18 assists in 45 games -- but that isn't saying a whole lot as Team Teal ranks dead last in scoring at 2.04 goals per game. Also, it gets worse when you consider that Hertl's already had 56 of his shots blocked compared to 77 blocks against for his 82-game career average. The silver lining is that the Sharks welcomed captain Logan Couture (lower body) back for his season debut in Saturday's win, and that should take some pressure off Hertl in this anemic offense.

The 30-year-old center is up to 12 tallies, 27 points, 82 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 26 hits and a minus-15 rating through 33 appearances. Hertl figures to keep the top-line center role throughout the campaign.

  • Sharks' Tomas Hertl: Scores both goals in loss

Hertl scored a pair of power-play goals on five shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche. Hertl has three multi-goal games in December, giving him seven tallies and three assists over his last eight contests. His goals Sunday were his first power-play points since Nov. 24. The 30-year-old center is up to 11 goals, 26 points, 78 shots on net, 26 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating through 30 appearances. It's fair to say he's succeeding in spite of the team around him, but it is success nonetheless as he aims for the second 70-point campaign of his career.

Outside of a rough plus-minus rating, he's playing as well as you'd expect from the average top-line center.
