Paul scored two goals Thursday in a 7-4 win over Montreal. His first came on the power play when he slapped home a loose puck off a rebound to tie the score 1-1 in the first. Paul pushed it to 4-2 in the second period when he ripped a shot from the slot that beat Cayden Primeau glove high. Paul has put up 22 goals and 42 points in 76 games this season to sit fifth in scoring for the Bolts. Paul's nine power-play goals put him fourth on the team. He's enjoyed a career year after two consecutive 32-point seasons, his previous career high-water mark.... See More ... See Less

Lightning's Nick Paul: Contributes assist
Paul logged an assist and two hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Bruins. Paul reached the 20-helper mark when he set up a Mitchell Chaffee tally in the first period. Through 10 contests in March, Paul has seven points, 15 shots on net and 15 hits. The 29-year-old forward is at 39 points, 131 shots on net, 91 hits and a minus-16 rating through 72 appearances in what is already a career-best campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Scores early in win
Paul scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Sharks. Paul opened the scoring 4:53 into the game. The 29-year-old has two goals and four assists over his last six outings despite often playing in a third-line role during that stretch. He's already produced a career year with 19 goals and 38 points through 69 outings. Paul has added 125 shots on net, 88 hits and a minus-17 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: New career mark for points
Paul had two assists Thursday in a 6-3 loss to Calgary. Paul plays an important role for the Bolts, and that has afforded him significant ice time this season. He has now put up three consecutive 32-plus point seasons (64 games; 17 goals, 17 assists). And Paul's 34 points this season are a career high. So are his 12 power-play points. Unfortunately, his minus-20 rating is an anchor for those in leagues that count that stat. Paul's fantasy value is limited.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Will play vs. Panthers
Paul (undisclosed) is good to play Saturday against Florida, according to Chris Krenn of the Lightning's official site. Paul has 14 goals and 29 points in 55 outings in 2023-24. He left Thursday's 6-3 win over Colorado due to the injury, but the 28-year-old won't end up missing a full game. He's projected to serve on the second line alongside Brandon Hagel and Anthony Cirelli.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Expected to miss out Saturday
Paul (undisclosed) is set to be sidelined against the Panthers on Saturday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Paul has played in all 55 games for the Bolts this season, racking up 14 goals and 15 assists, but he'll now find himself watching from the press box. With Paul out of the lineup, Michael Eyssimont is expected to move into a top-six role and could see additional power-play ice time versus Florida.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Can't finish game
Paul (undisclosed) didn't play in the third period of Thursday's game versus the Avalanche, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. There was no information on Paul's injury following the contest. Until another update is available, he should be considered day-to-day. If he can't play Saturday versus the Panthers, Austin Watson would likely enter the lineup while Conor Sheary could see a bigger role.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Two-point effort in victory
Paul emerged with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sabres. Paul opened the scoring with an even-strength tally, and he put forth an empty-net assist on the way to his sixth multi-point effort of the campaign. Currently operating in a top-six role, Paul is storming toward a breakout season based on 12 goals and 13 assists through 46 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Six points in last two games
Paul had a goal and two assists Thursday in a 5-4 win over Vegas. Paul's goal, which came with 1:13 remaining, stood as the winner. He scored on a rebound on a sharp angle deep in the left circle after Jiri Patera directed a rebound wide and away from the net. Luckily for Paul, Patera couldn't get back into the net in enough time. After stumbling through his last 19 games with only four points, Paul has exploded with two straight three-point games. He's playing with Brayden Point at even strength and is once again slotted onto the power play. Paul is worth nabbing off the wire as long as this gig continues.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Three points in win
Paul tallied a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 6-1 win over St. Louis. Paul assisted on a pair of Nikita Kucherov goals, which were netted in the first and second periods, respectively, before adding a power-play marker in the final frame, extending Tampa's lead to 6-0. Paul came into Tuesday's contest with just one goal and two points in his previous 13 appearances despite maintaining a role on the Lightning's top power-play unit. Overall, the 28-year-old winger is up to 10 goals and 16 points through 33 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Nets equalizer in third period
Paul scored a goal on five shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken. Paul stepped up into a top-six role Saturday with Steven Stamkos (illness) out. The 28-year-old Paul delivered the game-tying goal at 7:09 of the third period after the Lightning previously blew a 2-0 lead. The forward had gone nine games without a point entering Saturday, mainly seeing third-line usage in that span. He's up to nine goals, three helpers, 57 shots on net, 21 hits, 19 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating through 29 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Lights lamp twice in win
Paul scored two goals, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Canadiens. The 28-year-old snapped a brief four-game point drought with the performance, and both of Paul's tallies came as a result of him being in the right place at the right time to bang home a rebound. He set a new career high with 17 goals in 80 games last season, but Paul is on track to shatter that mark in 2023-24 as he's already tickled twine seven times in 13 contests.... See More ... Lightning's Nick Paul: Dream season continues
Paul scored a goal in Thursday's 6-0 win over San Jose. He put the Lightning up 5-0 at 7:29 of the second period when he punched in a rebound off a Steven Stamkos shot. Paul's dream season continues. He has a goal in back-to-back games and three in his last four. Paul is tied with Brandon Hagel for second on the team with five goals.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Another goal from forward
Paul scored a goal Tuesday in a 3-0 win over Carolina. Paul scored late in the third period on a one-timer from the left circle that beat Pyotr Kochetkov on the far side. A minute later, he picked up a fighting major when he dropped the gloves against Jack Drury. Paul has four goals, two assists, 13 shots and seven hits in seven contests so far.... See More ... Lightning's Nick Paul: Continues to surprise on power play
Paul scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in a 4-3 win over the Canucks on Thursday. Coach Jon Cooper continues to send Paul over the boards and straight to the front of the net on the first power-play unit, and the results have been impressive. All three of Paul's goals this season have come with the man advantage. Overall, he has five points (four on the power play) in five games, as well as seven hits, three blocks and 10 shots -- he will remain a valuable fantasy play as long as he continues to get the plum PP1 assignment.... Lightning's Nick Paul: Two goals, assist in opener
Paul tallied a pair of power-play goals and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Predators. Paul tied the game 2-2 in the second period, stuffing in a loose puck on a power play, before giving Tampa a 4-3 lead later in the frame with a second marker on the man advantage. The 28-year-old tallied 17 goals (four on the power play) and 32 points in 80 games with the Lightning last season. While he'll typically play on the third line, Paul's role on Tampa Bay's potent top power-play unit should offer some continued scoring upside.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Seven hits in Game 1 win
Paul laid seven hits in Tampa's 7-3 win over Toronto in Game 1 on Tuesday. Paul ended the regular season on a 12-game scoring slump, but the Bolts don't rely on him for offense. On Tuesday, Paul played 16:37, including 1:10 shorthanded. And his hits disrupted a Leafs squad that simply had no comeback, especially against the Bolts bottom six.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Nick Paul: Thriving with Bolts
Paul registered an assist to complement five hits in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres. Paul's breakout campaign continues, as he's posted career highs in several offensive categories, including goals (17) and total points (30) through 60 games. He also tied a season high with those five hits in the latest contest and advanced to a plus-14 rating. Remember, the Bolts signed Paul to a seven-year, $22.05 million contract last summer, and that seems to have been a major boon to his confidence as he finishes out his eighth season.... See More ... Lightning's Nick Paul: Set to return
Paul (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday against Colorado, Gabby Shirley of Bally Sports Florida reports. Paul has accounted for 16 goals, 26 points, 80 shots on goal and 72 hits in 50 games this season. He is slated to play between Ross Colton and Patrick Maroon following a two-game absence.... Lightning's Nick Paul: Not playing Saturday
Paul (upper body) is not in the lineup versus Dallas on Saturday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. This will be the second game in a row that Paul will miss. He has 16 goals and 26 points in 50 games this season, but had been slumping before his injury, scoring once adding an assist in his last 11 games.... See More ... See Less

Dave Mishkin@DaveMishkin2D ago“Despite the outcome, there were some positives for the @TBLightning to take out of Game 1. At the top of the list was how well they defended — and their ability to maintain that high level may be the biggest key for TB to have success in the series.” https://t.co/CQZ71gZAIl
