Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Passed over for first-base starts
Moustakas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
Moustakas finds himself on the bench for a fourth consecutive game and looks as though he'll remain relegated to a reserve role even while C.J. Cron (back) is without a definitive timeline to return from the 10-day injured list. Nolan Jones will receive his third straight at first base and appears set to serve as Cron's primary replacement.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Sitting Monday
Moustakas is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Marlins.
Moustakas will take a seat after he went 3-for-7 with a run scored and an RBI while starting two games during the Rockies' three-game series with Texas. Michael Toglia will take over at first base and bat eighth in the series opener with Miami.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Takes seat against Reds
Moustakas is not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati on Wednesday, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports.
Moustakas is expected to handle the majority of the reps at first base with C.J. Cron (back) on the injured list, but the veteran infielder will take a seat for the series finale against the Reds on Wednesday. Michael Toglia will get the start at first and hit seventh.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Starting in place of Cron
Moustakas will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Reds.
With C.J. Cron (back) headed to the 10-day injured list, Moustakas could see a good number of starts at first base versus right-handed pitching in the coming weeks. The 34-year-old has managed a .688 OPS with one home run in his first 24 games this season.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Goes back to bench
Moustakas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Moustakas went a collective 4-for-12 with a double and two runs while he was included in the lineup each of the last three games, making one start apiece at designated hitter, first base and third base. While the Rockies have each of their top options at those respective spots (Charlie Blackmon, C.J. Cron and Ryan McMahon) available, however, Moustakas won't get the opportunity to play on a regular basis.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Three hits in Monday's win
Moustakas went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Monday's 6-0 win over the Guardians.
It's the first multi-hit performance of the season for Moustakas, as he got the start at third base and hit sixth for the Rockies. With Elehuris Montero back down in Triple-A, there are at-bats available at the hot corner and at DH, but Moustakas hasn't done a lot to earn them so far by batting .243 with one homer, seven RBI and eight runs in 16 games.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Blasts first homer with Rockies
Moustakas went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to Washington.
Moustakas worked a 10-pitch at-bat against Anthony Banda in the ninth inning and finished it off with a 439-foot, two-run blast for his first long ball of the season. The veteran infielder made just his third start of the campaign for Colorado, and the homer was his second hit in 10 at-bats. Moustakas hasn't reached double-digit home runs since going deep 35 times with the Brewers in 2019, and he was plagued by injuries over his previous three seasons.

Rockies' Mike Moustakas: Makes Opening Day roster
The Rockies informed Moustakas on Sunday that he'll be included on the Opening Day roster, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Moustakas joined Colorado as a non-roster invitee in early March and pushed his way on the Opening Day squad after slashing .367/.387/.700 with two home runs in 31 plate appearances in the Cactus League. He'll likely get playing time at third base and designated hitter for the Rockies to begin the season, but fantasy players should take a wait-and-see approach before investing in Moustakas, given his struggles over the past few campaigns. Colorado will need to remove someone from the 40-man roster -- or add someone to the 60-day injured list -- before Moustakas' contract is selected.
