The 33-year-old veteran has proven he's still one of the better fantasy options behind the plate. Perez is slashing .282/.316/.512 with 12 homers, 28 runs scored and 34 RBI through 228 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less

Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Nationals. Perez has three homers and seven RBI over his last six games while batting .360 (9-for-25) in that span. The catcher is over halfway to matching his 23 homers from last season -- he now has 12 through 47 contests. He's also been one of the few reliable bats in the Royals' lineup, slashing .288/.327/.549 with 32 RBI, 26 runs scored and 12 doubles while primarily batting near the top of the order.... Royals' Salvador Perez: Gets night off Wednesday
Perez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Tigers. Freddy Fermin will start behind the plate and bat seventh for the Royals on Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -

Perez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-5 extra-inning loss to the Tigers. Perez's blast tied the game at 3-3 in the first inning, though the scoring simmered down after that. While the catcher has gone yard twice in the last three games, he's hitting just .172 (5-for-29) over his last seven contests. He's still been one of the Royals' most productive hitters with 11 homers, 27 RBI, 24 runs scored, 11 doubles and a .279/.319/.535 slash line through 44 games this season.... See More ... See Less -

Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a loss to the Brewers. After sitting out Friday due to blurred vision, Perez was back behind the plate Saturday. Royals' Salvador Perez: Cleared to catch
Perez (eye) will bat third and start behind the plate Saturday against the Brewers. Perez sat Thursday and then was scratched Friday with blurred vision. Royals' Salvador Perez: Dealing with blurry vision
Perez was scratched from Friday's lineup because of blurry vision, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters before Friday's game against the Brewers that Perez has been treated for his vision issues and it's expected to clear up soon. "Just a matter of when," Quatraro said. Perez may need to sit another day or two, but it doesn't appear that this will be a long-term concern for the veteran backstop.... See More ... See Less -
Royals' Salvador Perez: Scratched from lineup
Perez was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Brewers. No reason has been given for why Perez is taking a seat, but it's worth pointing out that the backstop wasn't in the lineup for Thursday's contest as well. Vinnie Pasquantino has moved into the designated hitter role, with Freddy Fermin remaining behind the plate.... See More ... See Less -

The Royals announced Perez is day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game against the Orioles with a contusion on his left middle finger. X-rays returned negative. Perez was hit in the finger on Anthony Santander's backswing in the eighth inning. The backstop may end up missing a game or two with the bruise, but it does appear he's avoided a significant injury.
