The Cardinals signed Querecuto to a minor-league contract Friday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Querecuto has not appeared in an MLB game since 2016 and will now join the Cardinals at Triple-A Memphis. The second baseman played in 108 games with Triple-A Louisville last season as a member of the Reds organization, batting .256 with 11 homers, 34 RBI, 52 runs and 10 stolen bases over 398 at-bats.

Querecuto signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Tuesday which includes an invitation to big-league camp.
Querecuto does have big-league experience under his belt, but he's only played four games at the highest level and none since 2016. He's spent the last five years in the upper minors, where his .294/.341/.415 slash line over that stretch is good for merely a 92 wRC+.

The Diamondbacks reassigned Querecuto to their minor-league camp Wednesday.
As a 28-year-old journeyman infielder whose lone big-league action came back in 2016, Querecuto was considered an extreme long shot to break camp with Arizona. He'll likely head to Triple-A Reno when its season begins in May.
Querecuto will be a part of the Diamondbacks' 60-man summer camp.
Querecuto posted a .755 OPS across 102 games with Triple-A Reno of the Pacific Coast League in 2019, but hasn't seen an at-bat at the major-league level since 2016. He's not on the 40-man roster, so consider the 27-year-old a depth utility option. Querecuto logged five or more games at every position except catcher last year with Reno.

Querecuto got his first major league action with four games in September 2016, but failed to hit above .250 at either Double-A Montgomery or Triple-A Durham during the rest of the season. He's likely just middle infield depth for the Giants.
