  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Knocks third homer

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Ramirez put the Guardians on the board with a two-run shot in the third inning. It was his third long ball of the season and first since April 8. He was stuck in a three-game hitless drought entering Sunday's contest, going 0-for-13 during that stretch. Ramirez is now slashing .246/.257/.435 with six extra-base hits and 12 RBI through 70 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Three-hit effort in loss

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the White Sox.

Ramirez has hit safely in all but one game this season, and he's already turned in four multi-hit efforts. The third baseman is yet to attempt a stolen base after swiping 28 bags on 34 tries last season. He's produced a .294/.308/.490 slash line with two home runs, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored, two doubles and a triple through 52 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Smacks second homer

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Monday's 4-0 win over the White Sox.

Ramirez took a fifth-inning Bryan Shaw slider over the right-field wall to provide the Guardians with their winning margin. It was the second homer for Ramirez who had gone 43 at-bats since hitting his first home run during the second game of the season. Despite the relatively slow start in the power department, Ramirez has maintained his typical run production, collecting his eighth and ninth RBI through the Guardians' first 10 games.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Another two-hit performance

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 victory over the Mariners.

Ramirez kicked off a three-run first inning for the Guardians with an RBI double before coming around to score on an infield single from Will Brennan. The third baseman would strike again in his third at-bat, sending home Steven Kwan with another double as Cleveland jumped out to a commanding 6-0 lead. Ramirez has recorded multiple hits in back-to-back games while also scoring two runs in each of those contests. He's now batting .385 through three games this month.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Smacks homer Friday

Ramirez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-4 win over the Athletics.

Ramirez set the tone with a first-inning blast, but that was his lone hit of the game. He has gone 2-for-10 with a homer and a triple, as well as three RBI and two runs scored, through the first two games of the season. Ramirez hit third against right-hander Ross Stripling, but it's expected the Cleveland third baseman will bat either second or third throughout the season, and it's unclear how much the opposing pitcher will affect manager Stephen Vogt's decisions.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Three homers in spring

Ramirez has gone 6-for-33 (.182) with three home runs over 12 Cactus League games.

Ramirez is as much of a lock as anyone in the Guardians' lineup, with the third baseman expected to hit either second or third most of the time. While he hasn't hit well in spring, there's no reason to worry about his playing time -- he should be an everyday player between the hot corner and designated hitter.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Could bat second at times

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt has talked to Ramirez about being used at both the second and third spots in the lineup at times this season, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Ramirez has typically been the three-hole hitter for Cleveland, although he did bat second down the stretch last season. Andres Gimenez would seem to be the most likely candidate to hit second on days when Ramirez is batting third, while Josh Naylor should regularly follow Ramirez in the batting order.
