Cincinnati outrighted Ramos to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Ramos was designated for assignment Tuesday and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old is a career .226/.312/.306 hitter in 141 plate appearances at the major-league level.... See More ... See Less

Reds' Henry Ramos: Designated for assignment
Ramos was designated for assignment by the Reds on Tuesday. Ramos has batted just .243 with a .660 OPS in 23 games (86 plate appearances) this season for Cincinnati. He made it through waivers unclaimed when he was DFA'd in early July and could pass through again without garnering interest from other teams.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Selected from Louisville
The Reds selected Ramos' contract from Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Ramos was sent outright to Triple-A on July 10 and has since slashed .310/.390/.437 across 82 plate appearances with Louisville. He was able to get on base at a solid rate (.356 OBP) during his time in the majors this season, though he doesn't project to receive consistent playing time in a crowded Reds lineup. Nick Senzel was optioned to Louisville in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Outrighted to Triple-A
Ramos cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Ramos has crushed the ball at Louisville this season, but he's 31 and hasn't done much at the big-league level. He is no longer on the Reds' 40-man roster but will stick around in the organization.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Designated for assignment
The Reds designated Ramos for assignment Saturday. Ramos will be pushed off the 40-man roster to make room for Michael Mariot, who was selected from Triple-A on Saturday. Ramos is slashing an impressive .318/.404/.568 through 152 plate appearances in the minors, so other teams could be interested on the waiver wire.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Activated and optioned
Ramos (hip) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Louisville. Ramos is recovered from the hip strain that has sidelined him since May 20, but the Reds don't currently have a spot for him on their major-league roster. He had posted a .663 OPS in 73 plate appearances for Cincinnati prior to the injury.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Begins rehab assignment
Ramos (hip) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Saturday. Ramos has been out for two weeks with a strained right hip. Prior to the injury, he hit a modest .242/.356/.306 in 18 games, so there's no guarantee he earns meaningful at-bats once he returns.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Sidelined with strained hip
Ramos was placed on the injured list with a strained hip Saturday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The injury may explain why Ramos found himself out of the lineup for the third time in four games, though his 85 wRC+ may sufficiently explain his lack of playing time on its own. His expected return date is unclear, and there's no guarantee he claims a starting role once he returns. Will Benson was recalled in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Sitting Saturday
Ramos will be on the bench Saturday against the Yankees. Ramos had been featuring regularly at designated hitter and in the outfield corners but now finds himself sitting for the third time in four games. He's been getting on base well but showing minimal power, slashing .242/.356/.306, so it wouldn't be a surprise if his role continues to slip.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Day off Wednesday
Ramos will take a seat Wednesday versus the Rockies. Ramos will remain on the bench for a second straight contest Wednesday after he went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the series opener Monday. Jonathan India will take over at designated hitter while Kevin Newman draws the start at second base and bats fifth in the series finale with Colorado.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Late add to lineup
Ramos was a late addition to Saturday's lineup against the White Sox, hitting fifth and manning left field. Jake Fraley was scratched with lower-back tightness, so Ramos entered the lineup in his place. The journeyman outfielder is hitless with seven strikeouts over his last three games.... See More ... Reds' Henry Ramos: Not in lineup
Ramos will sit Saturday against the White Sox. Ramos had his contract selected in late April and started eight consecutive games, but he's since been on the bench for two of the last three. In his last three games, he's gone 0-for-11 with seven strikeouts. Wil Myers returns from the COVID-19 injured list to start in right field, while Tyler Stephenson rests his legs as the designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Hits bench Wednesday
Ramos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres. For the first time since he was promoted from Triple-A Louisville on April 24, Ramos will exit the Cincinnati lineup. While starting at either right field or designated hitter in each of the past eight games, Ramos slashed .310/.412/.379 with a 14.7 percent walk rate. Until his production at the plate dramatically tapers off, Ramos should find himself in the starting nine more often than not.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Handling regular role
Ramos will start in right field and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Padres. Ramos has now picked up starts in each of the Reds' seven games since his April 24 call-up, and the 32-year-old has likely performed well enough to stick in the starting nine even if Wil Myers (illness) is able to return from the injured list later this week. While serving as a designated hitter or manning right field in his first six starts, Ramos has gone 9-for-22 with a triple, four walks, six runs and three RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Henry Ramos: Gets start following call-up
Ramos will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and No. 7 batter in Monday's game against the Rangers. The Reds won't waste any time breaking Ramos into the lineup for his first MLB action since 2021 after the 31-year-old switch-hitter had his contract selected from Triple-A Louisville earlier Monday. Cincinnati designated Jason Vosler for assignment in a corresponding move, and Ramos could end up replacing him as a regular in the lineup versus right-handed pitching while the Reds await Joey Votto's (shoulder/biceps) eventual return from the injured list. Ramos was off to a strong start at Louisville, slashing .314/.400/.486 with two home runs and three stolen bases while striking out in just 12.2 percent of his 41 plate appearances.... See More ... Reds' Henry Ramos: Added to roster
The Reds selected Ramos' contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Ramos, 31, is batting .314/.400/.486 with two homers and three steals with Louisville this season. He last saw action in the big leagues with the Diamondbacks in 2021. Ramos has prior professional experience at all three outfield spots, but he's played exclusively in right field or as a designated hitter for Louisville.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Henry Ramos: Replaces injured Beer
Ramos entered Tuesday's game after Seth Beer was removed due to a dislocated shoulder. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in an 8-4 loss to the Dodgers. Beer, who is considered day-to-day, opened the game at first base. Following Beer's departure, Pavin Smith moved from right field to first base, and Ramos played right field. The 29-year-old Ramos is getting his first crack in the majors and has appeared in five of the last six games. He could continue to get regular work, pending Beer's status.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Henry Ramos: Gets steady PT as No. 4 outfielder
Ramos will start in left field and bat sixth Monday against the Dodgers. The switch-hitting Ramos will crack the lineup for the fourth time in five games, this time filling in for left field while the lefty-hitting David Peralta takes a seat against Dodgers southpaw Clayton Kershaw. Since his Sept. 5 call-up from Triple-A Reno, Ramos has gone 4-for-14 with a home run, double, four RBI and three runs.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Henry Ramos: Contract selected by Arizona
Ramos had his contract selected by the Diamondbacks on Sunday. The 29-year-old joined the Diamondbacks on a minor-league deal in May and has crushed the ball at Triple-A Reno with a .371/.439/.582 slash line, 12 homers, 16 doubles, 57 RBI and 62 runs in 75 games. Ramos, a fifth-round pick by the Red Sox in 2010, will receive his first taste of the big leagues with rebuilding Arizona thanks to his strong showing at Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Henry Ramos: Invited to Rangers' camp
Ramos signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Thursday that includes an invite to major-league spring training. Ramos spent the majority of 2019 with Triple-A Sacramento before he was released by the Giants in August. He hit .269/.319/.439 with 12 home runs over 96 games at the Triple-A level last year. The 27-year-old hasn't made his major-league debut yet, but he'll get the chance to develop in spring training as a non-roster invitee.... See More ... See Less
