Mets' Sean Reid-Foley: Getting imaging on shoulder
Reid-Foley is being evaluated Tuesday for a possible shoulder strain, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Reid-Foley worked a scoreless inning of relief Monday against the Diamondbacks, but his shoulder was barking afterward and he has been sent for imaging scans. If it is indeed a shoulder strain, the 28-year-old right-hander will likely be shut down for the remainder of the 2023 campaign.

The Mets selected Reid-Foley's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Reid-Foley re-signed with the Mets on a minor-league deal in December after missing most of 2022 after undergoing Tommy John surgery, and he'll receive a look in the big leagues after posting a 4.96 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB over 16.1 innings at Syracuse. The right-hander has a 4.66 ERA in 40 outings during his MLB career.

Reid-Foley (elbow) went 1.2 scoreless innings and struck out three Thursday in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Syracuse, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Mayer notes that the right-hander averaged 94 mph with his fastball and touched 97 mph. Reid-Foley is with the Mets on a minor-league deal as he comes back from Tommy John surgery and could be a bullpen option for the big club in the second half.

Reid-Foley was one of two Mets to be non-tendered, with Dominic Smith being the other. Once a prospect of some notoriety with the Blue Jays, Reid-Foley posted a 5.28 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 19 relief appearances (30.2 innings) in his two seasons with New York. He underwent Tommy John surgery last May.
