  • Drew Jackson: Cuts ties with San Francisco

The Giants released Jackson from his minor-league contract Aug. 23. The 29-year-old utility infielder has now been cut loose by both organizations in the Bay Area this season, as Oakland previously released him in July. Jackson, who appeared in three games with the Athletics earlier this season as a COVID-19 replacement player, saw action exclusively at Triple-A Sacramento during his time in the Giants organization and batted .200 over 10 games.

  • Giants' Drew Jackson: Staying in Bay Area

Jackson signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Thursday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports. He was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento. Jackson was released by the Athletics on July 29, but he found a new organization quickly. The infielder slashed .243/.353/.297 with Triple-A Las Vegas prior to his release, and he also made three plate appearances with the A's in the majors. He'll likely spend most of the rest of the season at Sacramento.

  • Drew Jackson: Let go by Athletics

Jackson was released by the Athletics on Friday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports. • Athletics' Drew Jackson: Headed to Vegas

The Athletics reassigned Jackson to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports. Though he's in the lineup Monday for the Athletics' penultimate Cactus League game, Jackson ultimately didn't distinguish himself enough as a non-roster invitee to join the big club for Opening Day. Jackson will open the upcoming season in Las Vegas, hoping to play well enough to push his way to the big leagues for the first time since 2019, when he received a cup of coffee with the Orioles.

  • Athletics' Drew Jackson: Gets MiLB deal with A's

Jackson signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Dec. 3. Jackson will likely begin the 2022 campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas and will presumably serve as a utility man after he picked up starts at every position save for catcher and pitcher in 2021 while playing for the Mets' Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse. The 28-year-old, whose lone big-league action came in three games with the Orioles in 2019, slashed .251/.397/.416 with nine home runs and 24 stolen bases across 309 plate appearances for Syracuse last season.
