Mullins went 1-for-4 with a walk-off, two-run home run during Wednesday's 4-2 win against the Twins. Mullins extended his hit streak to nine games and has clubbed homers in three of the past four contests. The 29-year-old has rebounded from a poor start to the season and has a .259/.308/.552 slash line with five home runs, three steals, 15 RBI and 14 runs through 17 games.... See More ... See Less

Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Pops homer in win
Mullins went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly in Monday's 7-4 win over the Twins. Mullins' fifth-inning blast was ultimately the hit that put the game out of the Twins' reach. The outfielder has hit safely in seven straight games, and he's homered in each of the last two contests. He's batting .265 with an .872 OPS, four long balls, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored, two stolen bases and two doubles over 16 contests. Mullins has hit no higher than fifth in the order this season, but that's allowed him to be more involved in run production with his hot start to the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Two extra-base hits Sunday
Mullins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Brewers. Mullins has hit safely in six straight games, including Saturday's effort off the bench. The center fielder remains in a starting role, but manager Brandon Hyde will have to get creative about how he balances playing time for four outfielders with Colton Cowser's torrid start to the season. To his credit, Mullins has defended his place in the lineup well, batting .261 with an .827 OPS, three homers, two stolen bases, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored over 15 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: On bench vs. lefty
Mullins is not in Saturday's lineup against the Brewers. Mullins will head to the bench with lefty DL Hall on the hill for Milwaukee. Colton Cowser gets the start in center field against the same-handed pitcher while Austin Hays starts in left.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Logs steal in Tuesday's win
Mullins went 2-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Red Sox. This was Mullins' first multi-hit effort of the season. He's also logged both of his steals and four of his eight RBI over the last four contests. He's still off to a slow start, batting .188 with two home runs, a double and seven runs scored through 10 games, but it's yet to cost him any significant playing time in center field.... Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Goes deep in win
Mullins went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 win over the Pirates. Mullins tacked on the Orioles' fifth run with his 366-foot homer to right field in the eighth inning. It's been a slow start to the season for Mullins, who is batting .182 with two homers, five RBI, five runs scored and eight strikeouts over seven contests. He's still seeing most of the playing time in center field, though Jorge Mateo represents a right-handed option if manager Brandon Hyde feels the need to give Mullins a platoon partner.... Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Absent from lineup
Mullins is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. Mullins had started each of the first five games of the season, including two versus left-handers. He'll take a seat in this one, though, as the Royals send ace southpaw Cole Ragans to the hill. Jorge Mateo will occupy center field.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Tallies first homer
Mullins went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Thursday against the Angels. Mullins dropped to seventh in the lineup with lefty Patrick Sandoval starting on the mound, though it didn't hurt his production on Opening Day. The center fielder took Jose Cisnero deep in the seventh frame to tally his first homer of the season and to cap off an 11-run outburst for the Orioles. Mullins posted a .183 ISO across 116 games in 2023 and remains a strong power-speed threat.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Rejoins lineup Thursday
Mullins (hamstring) will start in center field and bat leadoff in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates. He'll rejoin the spring lineup for the first time since March 4 after the Orioles elected to exercise caution with Mullins over the past week and a half while he contended with right hamstring discomfort. Considering that Mullins had already compiled nine at-bats through five spring games prior to suffering the injury, he should only require a handful more of appearances in the Grapefruit League to get himself prepared for the start of the regular season. The fact that Mullins is being deployed in the outfield rather than at designated hitter suggests the Orioles don't have any concern about his ability to sprint or change direction as he makes his way back from the hamstring injury.... Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Tracking toward return Thursday
Mullins (hamstring) expects to return to Grapefruit League play Thursday versus the Pirates, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Mullins had to depart a spring game a week ago with a right hamstring issue but has made steady progress since then. The center fielder will be given a few more days to ease back into workouts before returning to game action Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: On track to return next week
Manager Brandon Hyde noted Saturday that Mullins (hamstring) is on track to return to spring training action next week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Mullins exited Monday's Grapefruit League game versus the Twins due to right hamstring discomfort. He underwent a precautionary MRI on March 6, which came back negative, and the outfielder appears set to return in the coming week. In 116 games in 2023, Mullins slashed .233/.305/.416 with 15 home runs and 74 RBI over 455 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: MRI negative on hamstring
Mullins is considered day-to-day after he said Wednesday that an MRI on his right hamstring came back negative, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Mullins was removed from Monday's game versus the Twins due to cramping in the hamstring, and the precautionary imaging he underwent afterward yielded good news. The outfielder will be down for a few more days but expects to return to Grapefruit League action next week and fully anticipates being ready to roll when Opening Day arrives.... See More ... Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Likely undergoing precautionary MRI
Manager Brandon Hyde said Tuesday that Mullins (hamstring) is still experiencing soreness and may undergo an MRI to establish a baseline for the injury, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports. The center fielder made a precautionary exit Monday due to hamstring soreness and wasn't initially expected to require imaging, but that no longer appears to be the case. There doesn't appear to be much concern about this being a long-term injury, but it's worth keeping an eye on Mullins' status over the next few days.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: No MRI after precautionary exit
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Mullins' (hamstring) removal from Monday's game versus the Twins was precautionary and the outfielder is not scheduled for an MRI, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Mullins had to be pulled from the contest in the first inning while running the bases, but he received treatment on his right hamstring and it sounds like he should be fine. The O's are considering him day-to-day, but expect Mullins to he held out of at least a few games just to be safe.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Nursing hamstring soreness
Mullins' removal from Monday's Grapefruit League game versus the Twins was due to right hamstring discomfort, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Mullins walked in the bottom of the first inning and advanced to second base on a groundout but evidently at some point felt soreness in his hamstring, leading to his exit. He did not seem to be laboring as he walked off the field, but we should have a better idea as to the severity of Mullins' injury after the game.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Exits game with apparent injury
Mullins was lifted from Monday's Grapefruit League game versus the Twins with an apparent injury, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Mullins walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning and advanced to second base on a groundout before being removed for a pinch-runner. It's not clear exactly what happened, but he was met by a trainer upon entering the dugout. The Orioles should provide more clarity on Mullins' situation shortly.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Settles with Baltimore
The Orioles and Mullins avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $6.325 million contract Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. It was the second year of arbitration eligibility for Mullins. The center fielder slashed .233/.305/.416 with 15 home runs and 19 stolen bases over 119 games for the O's this past season. Mullins' production has fallen off dramatically since his 30-30 season in 2021, but he's still been an above-average regular.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Sitting against lefty
Mullins isn't in the Orioles' lineup Thursday against the Red Sox, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports. As lefty Chris Sale prepares to take the mound for Boston, the Orioles will keep the lefty-hitting Mullins on the bench to begin Thursday's contest. Aaron Hicks will take over in center field and bat fifth while Mullins sits.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Not in Friday's lineup
Mullins isn't starting Friday against Cleveland, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Mullins has hit a rough patch offensively as of late, going just 1-for-12 across his last three games. He'll get a chance to regroup Friday while Aaron Hicks starts in center field and bats fifth.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Swipes two bags
Mullins went 1-for-4 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Astros. Mullins hadn't stolen multiple bases in one game since Opening Day. He's picked up four of his 19 thefts this year in September while hitting. 268 (15-for-56) this month. The outfielder is at a .248/.321/.445 slash line with 15 home runs, 73 RBI and 49 runs scored over 105 contests this season.... See More ... See Less
