France went 2-for-4 in an extra-innings loss to the Dodgers on Saturday, pushing his average over the last five games to .353 (6-for-17).
All six of France's hits during that span have been singles, but he reached safely in all five contests to push his season on-base percentage to an impressive .340. However, the veteran infielder's current surge still leaves his season average at a middling .252 -- way off the .285 figure he's averaged over the last three seasons -- with the downturn at least partly attributable to a small bump in strikeout rate to 18.1 percent from tallies of 16.3 percent and 15.4 percent in the prior pair of campaigns.

France went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double, two walks and two runs in a win over the Reds on Wednesday.
A trio of teammates made more noise via the long ball, but France was arguably the biggest thorn in the side of Reds pitching Wednesday by reaching safely in four of his five plate appearances. The 29-year-old pushed his season on-base percentage to .345 with the busy night, his highest figure in that category since June 25.

He didn't play Sunday after exiting Saturday's contest following a hit-by-pitch on the right elbow but is ready to roll for Monday's festivities. August was France's best offensive month this season, but he comes into action Monday with just a .602 OPS over his last 10 games.

France was lifted from Saturday's game versus the Mets with a right elbow contusion, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
He was struck by a Grant Hartwig pitch in the sixth inning and immediately left the game. It's not clear at this point whether France has undergone X-rays, but more should be available on his status after the game. The first baseman went 1-for-2 with a single prior to the hit-by-pitch.

France was removed from Tuesday's 3-1 loss after a ball struck his left wrist on a pickoff attempt. He's evidently feeling much better a day later and won't wind up missing any starts. France boasts an .868 OPS so far in August.

France was hit in the wrist during a pickoff attempt in the second inning of Tuesday's contest and was taken out of the game shortly afterward. France's injury certainly could have been much worse, but his status for Wednesday's game is uncertain. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.
