Busenitz was optioned to Triple-A Louisville by the Reds on Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Reds' Alan Busenitz: Recalled from Triple-A
The Reds recalled Busenitz from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
With Derek Law headed for the 15-day IL due to a right elbow sprain, Busenitz will join the Reds' bullpen. He made his first major-league appearance since 2018 on Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over 0.2 innings. Busenitz holds a 1.80 ERA and 1.40 WHIP through 15 Triple-A frames, and he shouldn't be expected to see high-leverage usage with Cincy.

Reds' Alan Busenitz: Sent back to Triple-A
Cincinnati optioned Busenitz to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
This is the corresponding move for the promotion of left-hander Brandon Williamson, who is making his MLB debut in a start Tuesday night at Coors Field. Busenitz struggled in his lone appearance with the Reds over the weekend, allowing an earned run on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning to the Marlins on Sunday.

Reds' Alan Busenitz: Contract selected from Triple-A
Cincinnati purchased the contract of Busenitz from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.
Busenitz is one of three new relievers that are being added to the Cincinnati bullpen, and he'll have a chance to pitch in an MLB game for the first time since 2018. The right-hander will likely be a middle-innings option for the Reds while he's with the club.

Reds' Alan Busenitz: Sent to minors camp
The Reds reassigned Busenitz to minor-league camp Tuesday.
Busenitz was one of seven players cut Tuesday as the Reds reduce their group at big-league camp to 61 men. The right-handed reliever previously made 51 appearances in the majors with the Twins between 2017 and 2018 before spending the last four years overseas with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.

Reds' Alan Busenitz: Invited to Reds' camp
Busenitz joined the Reds as a non-roster invitee Tuesday.
Busenitz owns a 4.58 ERA in 57 career major-league innings, the last of which came in 2018. He's spent the last four years with the Rakuten Eagles in Japan, where he's cruised to a 2.83 ERA in 155.2 innings. The 32-year-old righty will try to earn a bullpen spot in camp.

Alan Busenitz: Shipped to Japan
Busenitz's rights were sold to the Rakuten Eagles in Japan on Tuesday.
Busenitz didn't find much success out of the bullpen for Minnesota in 2018, accruing a 7.82 ERA and 2.01 WHIP with a 26:14 K:BB over 25.1 frames. He'll search for a better outcome overseas while pitching in the Nippon Professional League.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Recalled from Triple-A
The Twins recalled Busenitz from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
Busenitz had allowed six runs on nine hits in eight innings pitched with three saves at Triple-A since last appearing in the majors. He could be given an audition in the closer role with the Twins, but he'll need to demonstrate some success in the majors after posting a 6.23 ERA and allowing three home runs in 13 innings.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Shipped to minors
Busenitz was sent to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Busenitz was optioned to make room for Adalberto Mejia, who's slated to start Tuesday's matchup against the Blue Jays. In 10 appearances out of the bullpen this season, Busenitz has accrued an ugly 6.75 ERA and 2.08 WHIP with 15 strikeouts over 12 innings.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Recalled from minors
Busenitz was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Brandon Warne of Zone Coverage reports.
Busenitz was promoted back to the big leagues with Addison Reed (triceps) placed on the disabled list. Across just six appearances with the Twins this year, Busenitz has allowed five earned runs on 13 hits in just seven innings of relief. Look for him to serve in low-leverage situations while with the team.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Optioned to Triple-A
Busenitz was sent back down to Triple-A Rochester, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
Busenitz was roughed up his first time out in the majors, allowing three runs over 1.1 innings, but he picked up a win with 1.2 scoreless innings Thursday against the White Sox. The decision to return him to Triple-A came down to the fact that Busenitz still has options remaining, as the Twins needed to open up a roster spot for Saturday's starter Adalberto Mejia. Expect Busenitz back in Minnesota at some point this season.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Returns to major leagues
Busenitz was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Fernando Romero was optioned down Saturday, and Busenitz will come up to replace him on the active roster. Busenitz enjoyed a great run with the Twins last year (1.99 ERA, 0.98 WHIP), and while he wasn't as good during a prior stint with the big club earlier this season, his numbers out of the bullpen with Rochester suggest he may be able to carve out a permanent spot in time.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Recalled from Triple-A
Busenitz was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.
Busenitz missed out on an Opening Day roster spot due in part to a poor spring performance, but he'll now head back to the majors to join the Twins' bullpen. The righty posted a 1.99 ERA (4.20 FIP) over 31.2 innings of relief with the big club last season.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Optioned to Triple-A
Busenitz was optioned to Triple-A Rochester, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Busenitz struggled this spring (7.27 ERA) but this is still a surprise since he was seen as almost a lock to make the bullpen when spring began. He'll likely be called up early in the season as the Twins may aggressively rotate the back end of their bullpen between Triple-A and the majors.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Struggling this spring
Busenitz gave up three runs and three hits in two-thirds of an inning Saturday to raise his spring ERA to 8.22.
Busenitz has given up seven runs in 7.2 innings this spring but does have 10 strikeouts and just two walks. He made a strong impression when called up last season with a 2.05 ERA and 7.8 K/9 in the final two months, so he's likely to win a bullpen spot even with his uneven spring.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Tosses scoreless inning
Busenitz allowed one hit while striking out one in a scoreless inning Sunday against the Tigers.
Busenitz has been phenomenal in 30 innings with the Twins this year, earning himself a 1.50 ERA. The young right-hander has enjoyed great success against right-handed hitters, allowing a batting average of .177. He has been used mostly in low-leverage situations, but he could be in line to see some key innings during the final games of the season as he continues to establish himself in the Minnesota bullpen.

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Returns to Minneapolis
Busenitz was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.
Busenitz has succeeded in both the majors and the minors this season, so he'll return to the big leagues to replace Craig Breslow on the active roster after the veteran was designated for assignment. Busenitz doesn't seem to be in line for any high-leverage innings, although he does have a nice 39:10 K:BB in 35.1 innings with the Red Wings, which would add some value in deep formats if he can translate it to the big leagues.
