  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Sizzling in WBC

Frelick is 7-for-18 (.389) with three doubles, four RBI and a stolen base through four WBC games with the Italian national team.

Frelick hit leadoff in all four games Team Italy participated in during pool play, and his hot bat helped propel his team to the quarterfinals. Although Frelick is away from the Brewers for the time being, his WBC showing has boosted his stock to some degree, and it's not out of the question that he begins the 2023 campaign with the big club.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Invited to big-league camp

Frelick has received an invitation to major-league spring training with the Brewers, reports MLB.com's Adam McCalvy.

On track to make his big-league debut at some point during the 2023 season, Frelick will get a chance to put his best foot forward under close watch of Milwaukee's lead decision makers. The 22-year-old top outfield prospect slashed .331/.403/.480 with 11 home runs and 24 stolen bases in 119 games last summer between High-A Wisconsin, Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville and is one of the organization's top prospects.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Still piling up hits

Frelick went 18-for-46 (.391) with three home runs, 11 RBI and two steals over his last 10 games with Triple-A Nashville.

Frelick has played in 42 games since being promoted to Nashville, and according to team announcer Jeff Hem, he has recorded at least two hits in half of them. Power has not come up much when discussing Frelick, but he has added that to his repertoire of late, slugging .674 over the 10-game sample referenced above. At this point it seems unlikely Frelick will be called up this season, but at least he has put himself in position to compete for a big-league job next spring.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Sizzling at Triple-A

Frelick has gone 22-for-50 (.440) with four extra-base hits, five RBI, two steals and an 8:5 BB over 13 games since being promoted to Triple-A Nashville.

Frelick went a perfect 4-for-4 in his last game Wednesday, and he now owns a robust .329 batting average both this season and in his two-year minor-league career. Due to a detail in the new CBA -- as outlined by Jim Goulart of BrewerFanatic.com -- the Brewers will not call him up prior to Aug. 23. However, the big-league club hasn't been getting much production in center field, and Frelick is capable of playing that spot, so it's not out of the question that he is summoned from Triple-A once the noted deadline passes.

  • Brewers' Sal Frelick: Promoted to Triple-A

Frelick was promoted to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Frelick earned a trip to the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate by posting a sizzling .999 OPS over his last 33 games with Biloxi. He will likely remain with Nashville the rest of the way, but a strong finish to the campaign could both boost his prospect stock and put him in position to join the big-league club sometime in 2023.
