Coming out of the All-Star break, Olivares was deactivated due to the left quad strain and was later moved to the 60-day injured list, so he won't be eligible to rejoin the Royals until the second half of September. That said, so long as Olivares incurs no setbacks during what will likely be a two-plus-week-long rehab assignment, he could get a look in a near-everyday role in the Kansas City outfield over the final couple weeks of the season. Prior to suffering the injury, Olivares slashed .303/.358/.434 with three home runs and two stolen bases across 109 plate appearances with the Royals.

Olivares (quadriceps) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Olivares landed on the injured list with a left quadriceps strain July 22, and the issue is apparently significant enough to keep him sidelined for at least another six weeks. It's not yet clear whether the Royals expect him to return prior to the end of the regular season, but Nate Eaton's contract was selected Thursday to provide additional assistance in the outfield.
Olivares was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left quadriceps strain.
Olivares tweaked his quadriceps at some point this week and will now be away from the team for 10 days while nursing the injury. Nick Pratto was called up Friday to replace him on the active roster. Kyle Isbel will likely operate at the primary option in right field for the time being.
