The 26-year-old drove in both of Milwaukee's runs during Friday's 2-1 victory, and he led the offense with three hits Saturday. It's already the 10th multi-hit game of the season for Contreras, who ranks first in the National League with a .372 average and is also third in RBI (20) and fifth in runs scored (18).

One day after receiving his Silver Slugger Award, Contreras hit his first and second home runs of the season to help him achieve a career-best five RBI in one game. All four of his hits had an exit velocity of 104 mph or higher, as he's seeing the ball very well to start the year. Contreras went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Mets.
Contreras also struck out twice and has already whiffed five times through 14 plate appearances after striking out at a 20.6 percent clip last season, but he's been productive the past two games with five hits. The 26-year-old tied for eighth in MLB last season with 38 doubles, and his pair of two-baggers Sunday were his first of the young campaign.

Contreras had been a bit quiet after homering in his first appearance of the spring, but he made all kinds of noise Tuesday and now owns a .976 OPS through 10 spring games. The Brewers brought in fellow backstop Gary Sanchez over the offseason, but he will likely see most of his action at the designated hitter spot while Contreras handles the bulk of the starts behind the plate.
