Ramos was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento by the Giants on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Ramos has seen some action in the majors each of the previous two seasons but looks fairly buried on the Giants' outfield depth chart. The 24-year-old has managed just a .470 OPS in 34 big-league contests.... See More ... See Less

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Ready to play Sunday
Ramos (knee) is starting in right field and batting sixth in Sunday's spring game versus the Rangers. The 24-year-old exited Saturday's contest after being hit by a pitch on the right knee, but his quick return to game action confirms it was a minor injury. Ramos had a .537 OPS in 60 MLB plate appearances last year and is likely to open 2024 at Triple-A Sacramento.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Feeling fine after HBP
Ramos is feeling better after taking a pitch off his right knee during Saturday's spring training game versus the Cubs, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Ramos looked to be in pain as he limped off the field after getting plunked, but manager Bob Melvin said Ramos could return to the Giants' lineup Sunday, so it seems the 24-year-old outfielder escaped relatively unscathed. Ramos owns a .158/.220/.250 slash line through 82 career MLB plate appearances and is likely to return to Triple-A Sacramento to begin 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Returns to minors
Ramos was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday. The 24-year-old was called up by San Francisco on Sept. 23, and he went 0-for-8 with two strikeouts during his weeklong stint in the majors. Ramos had a .928 OPS at Triple-A this season but hit .179 with a 33.3 percent strikeout rate over 60 plate appearances in the big leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Recalled from Triple-A
The Giants recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. Ramos has mostly struggled in limited action at the major-league level, but he boasts a .300/.382/.546 slash line with 12 homers and nine stolen bases in 62 games this year at Triple-A. The young outfielder could get a few starts over what little remains of the regular season as the Giants steer toward official elimination from the playoffs.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Sent back to Triple-A
The Giants optioned Ramos to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday. The 23-year-old outfielder heads back to the farm as Mitch Haniger (forearm) makes his return from the 60-day injured list. Ramos has batted just .208/.269/.354 in 20 games (52 plate appearances) this season at the major-league level.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Recalled from Sacramento
The Giants recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The 23-year-old was just sent back to the minors Tuesday, but he's needed again for outfield depth after the Giants lost Michael Conforto to a left hamstring strain. Ramos carries a rough .220/.273/.390 slash line in 44 plate appearances this season at the major-league level.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Optioned back to Triple-A
San Francisco optioned Ramos to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday. Ramos showed pretty well during his latest stay on the Giants' major-league roster, slashing .267/.353/.600 across 17 plate appearances, but Wade Meckler has taken over as the team's primary center fielder.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Starts, but losing work to Meckler
Ramos will start in left field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Rays, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Ramos is back in the lineup for the series finale, but he sat in both of the Giants' previous two matchups with right-handed pitchers and may have moved into more of a part-time role in the wake of Wade Meckler's call-up to the big leagues. As a left-handed hitter, Meckler could occupy the large side of a platoon in center field with the righty-hitting Ramos, though the Giants will have room for both players in the outfield Wednesday while Blake Sabol shifts from left field to catcher in place of a resting Patrick Bailey. Ramos is hitting .250 with one home run and a 31.6 percent strikeout rate through his 38 big-league plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Recalled from Sacramento
San Francisco recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Ramos has struggled in limited action at the major-league level, but the 23-year-old former top prospect boasts a .307/.365/.575 batting line with 10 homers and eight steals in 50 games this season between Low-A and Triple-A. He could get some starts in the Giants' outfield while AJ Pollock (oblique) is on the shelf.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Activated and optioned
Ramos (oblique) was activated Tuesday from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Sacramento. Ramos is recovered from the right oblique strain that has kept him on the shelf since mid-May, but the Giants want him to continue working on his craft in the minors. He's posted a promising .319/.376/.613 slash line with eight homers and seven steals in 32 games this year between Low-A San Jose and Triple-A Sacramento.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Placed on 60-day IL
The Giants recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right oblique strain. Ramos recently suffered the injury while in the minors and now will be sidelined into July, although at least he'll get a major-league paycheck out of it. The move clears a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Called up, starting Sunday
The Giants recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday. He'll start in left field and bat eighth in the Giants' series finale with the Royals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. San Francisco sent out Matt Beaty to Triple-A to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Ramos. The 23-year-old Ramos, who had posted a .725 OPS and three stolen bases through seven games with Sacramento, will likely serve as a short-side platoon outfielder while he's up with the big club.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Returns to minors
Ramos was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Ramos' latest stint in the big leagues lasted only a few days, as he went 0-for-7 with a walk and two runs scored after being promoted Saturday. Austin Slater (hand) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Recalled, hitting third Saturday
Ramos was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and is starting in right field and batting third Saturday against the Dodgers, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. The righty-hitting prospect slots right into the heart of the lineup against lefty Clayton Kershaw. It may only be a brief stint in the majors for Ramos, who is hitting .212/.300/.332 with six home runs and two steals in 47 games at Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Headed back to minors
San Francisco optioned Ramos to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports. He was one of two outfielders sent to the minors Wednesday, with Stuart Fairchild also being optioned to Triple-A. Following his call-up from Sacramento on Tuesday, Ramos drew the start in right field in the Giants' 7-4 win over the Phillies and went 0-for-3 at the plate.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Called up, batting sixth in debut
The Giants called up Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, and he'll start in left field and bat sixth against the Marlins, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. Ramos began the season at the Triple-A level and went 3-for-13 with a home run, four runs and four RBI in four games, and he'll make his major-league debut in Sunday's series finale versus Miami. LaMonte Wade (knee) is on the injured list to open the season, and Ramos could carve out a regular big-league role if he plays well early in his first taste of the majors.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Expected to get called up, start
Ramos is expected to be called up to the Giants' big-league roster and start Sunday against the Marlins, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. After failing to play with the team this spring before being sent down to Triple-A Sacramento on March 28, Ramos will quickly get called up to make his MLB debut Sunday. The outfielder had started three games at Triple-A this past week, collecting three hits including a homer, four RBI and four runs in 12 at-bats while walking three times as well. The 22-year-old offers the Giants another depth option in the outfield and we're yet to see what corresponding move the organization will make to call him up.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Sent back to Triple-A Sacramento
Ramos was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The 22-year-old didn't crack a lineup with the Giants this spring, returning to the minors Monday. In 54 games with Sacramento last season, Ramos batted .272 while hitting four homers and driving in 30 runs. Additionally, the outfielder swiped eight bags which if translated to 162 games would be 24 steals.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Added to 40-man roster
Ramos was added to the Giants' 40-man roster Friday. It was a somewhat disappointing season for Ramos, as he logged a .755 OPS at Double-A and a .722 OPS at Triple-A. Those are fine marks, but he had a chance to really show that he was a big part of the Giants' future last season and didn't quite do that. Even so, he'll be 22 next season and will be back at Triple-A, so there's still plenty of time for it all to come together for him.... See More ... See Less
