Julien went 3-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Saturday's victory over the Rockies. Julien fell a triple shy of the cycle Saturday, notching a single in the first inning, a double in the sixth and belting a two-run homer in the seventh. He's now up to 16 homers on the year -- two in his last three games -- while slashing .263/.381/.461 across 108 contests.... See More ... See Less

Twins' Edouard Julien: Gets breather Friday
Julien is not in the lineup Friday against the Rockies. This looks to be a planned day of rest for Julien, who boasts an .825 OPS with 15 homers and three steals through his first 107 major-league games. Christian Vazquez will serve as the Twins' designated hitter Friday at Colorado. Donovan Solano is batting leadoff.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Belts 15th homer
Julien went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the A's in Wednesday's 6-4 victory. Julien began the Twins' half of the first inning with a bang, smacking a solo shot to right field. The long ball snapped an 0-for-11 stretch over his past four games and was his first extra-base hit since Sept. 17. Though he's somewhat faded down the stretch, Julien has still produced a solid .262/.380/.452 slash line with 15 homers, 33 RBI, 58 runs and three stolen bases through 393 plate appearances in his first season in the majors.... Twins' Edouard Julien: Sits versus southpaw
Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers. Julien will bow out of the starting nine along with fellow left-handed hitter Max Kepler while the Rangers bring southpaw Jordan Montgomery to the hill. Kyle Farmer will pick up a start in the Minnesota infield and will bat seventh while Julien retreats to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Belts three-run shot
Julien went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's win over Texas. Julien drilled a three-run shot during Minnesota's six-run seventh frame but also struck out four times. It was his 11th homer of the year and first since July 26. Over his previous 22 games since that last home run, Julien posted a .621 OPS with just four RBI. The rookie infielder is now slashing .285/.378/.479 with 24 extra-base hits and 41 runs scored through 78 games.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Back in action Wednesday
Julien (hamstring) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Tigers. Julien sat out Tuesday's 5-3 win due to the hamstring injury, but the day off was apparently all he needed to move past the issue. He'll settle back in as the Twins' table setter in the series finale after previously batting ninth in his most recent start Sunday against the Phillies.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench Tuesday
Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers. The rookie infielder often finds himself on the bench against left-handed pitchers, but he'll sit Tuesday despite the fact righty Alex Faedo is taking the mound for Detroit. Julien is mired in a 1-for-16 slump, so manager Rocco Baldelli may just be looking to provide an extra day of rest. Jorge Polanco will shift to the keystone while Royce Lewis starts at third base.... Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench again versus lefty
Julien is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Detroit. The Tigers are starting a lefty for the second day in a row, so Julien will again begin this one on the bench. Jorge Polanco will occupy second base, with Kyle Farmer covering third.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Heads to bench versus lefty
Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. The rookie will join fellow left-handed hitters Joey Gallo and Max Kepler on the bench for the series finale while the Royals bring southpaw Ryan Yarbrough to the hill. Jorge Polanco will check in for Julien at second base after making both of his first two starts at third base upon his return from the injured list Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Could stick at keystone
Julien, who is starting at second base and hitting second Friday against the White Sox, got a vote of confidence with the news that Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will get reps at third base during his rehab assignment, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Given that Julien is arguably the game's hottest hitter, with a .593 batting average and three home runs in his last eight games, the Twins probably would have found a spot for him even if Jorge Polanco wasn't adding third base to his repertoire. This is still a nice sign that the Twins may feel they have found their second baseman of the present and future in Julien, although they haven't yet committed to giving him an everyday role. While he generally hits second against righties, Julien hasn't started against a lefty since June 19.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Reaches base four times again
Julien went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners. Julien has gotten on base 10 times in his last 14 plate appearances, going 8-for-11 with two homers and three walks in that span as he continues to torment Seattle's pitching. The second baseman's blast was his ninth homer in 48 contests this season and his fifth long ball in July. With six multi-hit efforts in his last seven games, Julien is up to a .318/.394/.574 slash line overall.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Gets aboard four times
Julien went 3-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Mariners. Julien has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 12-for-21 (.571) with six extra-base hits in that span. His steal Monday was his second of the campaign. The second baseman is more than holding his own against major-league pitching with a .298/.373/.525 slash line, seven home runs, 14 RBI, 21 runs scored and 11 doubles through 162 plate appearances, though his 32.1 percent strikeout rate is a bit lofty.... Twins' Edouard Julien: Socks sixth homer
Julien went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Royals. Getting the start at second base and batting second, the 24-year-old rookie took Alec Marsh deep in the first inning to give Pablo Lopez all the run support he would need. Julien has gone yard in consecutive games to give him six homers on the season, and since rejoining the big-league lineup June 10 he's slashing .290/.375/.484, albeit with a less impressive three RBI and nine runs in 21 contests.... Twins' Edouard Julien: Possible waiver wire pickups
Is the third time the charm for Julien? He's back in the majors, once again filling in for an injured Jorge Polanco, who's once again out with a strained hamstring. But this strain is said to be worse than the one that kept Polanco out for the final two weeks of May, and since it's to the same hamstring, you can trust the Twins will be even more cautious about bringing him back. Meanwhile, manager Rocco Baldelli threw Julien right back into the fire, batting him leadoff both Saturday and Sunday. He's demonstrated nothing but trust in the 24-year-old when he's been in the majors, and Julien has reciprocated by hitting for power and working deep counts. If he gets a chance to settle in, then he may come even closer to resembling the .437 on-base guy he's been in the minors the past three years.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Recalled from Triple-A
Julien was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. He will take the place of Jorge Polanco, who was placed on the injured list with a hamstring strain. Julien has been back and forth between the majors and Triple-A this season, but when he's been up, he has typically played pretty regularly against righties. He hit second or first in his last five games before his most recent demotion.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Heading back to Triple-A
Julien will be optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Julien performed well after being recalled to the majors May 20, slashing .286/.333/.500 with two homers and four RBI in 36 plate appearances. He'll be forced back to Triple-A due to the return of Jorge Polanco (hamstring), but the 24-year-old prospect will almost certainly be back with the Twins at some point this year if he continues to crush minor-league pitching.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Three extra-base hits in win
Julien went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two RBI and an additional run scored in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Blue Jays. While making his sixth consecutive start, Julien turned in the best game of his young career, as he hadn't produced more than one extra-base hit in any of his prior 14 contests with the Twins. Julien -- who will start at second base and bat second in Sunday's series finale -- should be locked into a full-time role with Minnesota so long as Jorge Polanco (hamstring) is stuck on the 10-day injured list.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Manning leadoff spot Wednesday
Julien will start at second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Giants. Joey Gallo had served as the Twins' table setter in two of the previous three games, but since he'll be resting for the series finale, Julien will receive his first look atop the lineup since being called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday. The rookie had served as the Twins' cleanup or No. 5 batter in each of the previous three games, going 1-for-7 with a walk and four strikeouts. Though he's mustered a .194/.256/.361 slash line through his first 40 plate appearances in the majors, Julien should continue to see regular starts at the keystone so long as Jorge Polanco (hamstring) remains on the injured list.... Twins' Edouard Julien: Returns to big leagues
Julien was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Julien will replace Jorge Polanco (hamstring) on the big-league roster after Polanco was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Julien is one of the Twins' top prospects and has gone 6-for-27 with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored over eight games with Minnesota in 2023, while the 24-year-old is batting .287 with four long balls, 11 RBI, 26 runs scored and three stolen bases over 108 at-bats in 31 contests with St. Paul this season.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Edouard Julien: Mashes second home run of season
Julien went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 10-4 victory over the Red Sox. Julien now has two home runs since making his big-league debut on April 12. The 23-year-old also recorded his first three-hit game in Wednesday's blowout victory. The rookie infielder has received regular playing time since his promotion, but the impending return of Jorge Polanco (knee) -- who is with Triple-A St. Paul on a rehab assignment -- looms large over Julien's season-long outlook....
