Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Returns to lineup Monday
Mitchell (hamstring) is back in the Brewers' lineup for Monday's Cactus League contest versus the Mariners. He'll start in center field and bat leadoff.
Mitchell wound up missing a week and a half of action with right hamstring tightness. His offense is a work in progress, but he should be an asset in the stolen-base department for fantasy managers in 2023 as long as he's playing regularly, which appears to be the plan.

Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Target return pushed back
Brewers manager Craig Counsell said the team will "go slow" in working Mitchell back from his right hamstring injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Mitchell was originally scheduled to return to game action sometime this weekend, but now the team is reportedly aiming for the speedy center fielder to return around Tuesday. Despite the delay, Mitchell still figures to be at full health by Opening Day.

Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Starts running again
Mitchell (hamstring) resumed running Monday but isn't expected to return to Cactus League games until this weekend, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.
The Brewers aren't overly concerned about the right hamstring tightness which forced Mitchell from a game last Thursday. However, he'll receive at least a week off just to be safe. If healthy, Mitchell looks to be the clear favorite to open the season as the Brewers' starting center fielder.

Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Doing well
Mitchell (hamstring) is doing well and should return to the lineup in about a week, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.
Mitchell left Thursday's game against the Giants due to right hamstring tightness, and while the injury will cost him some exhibition games, it looks like his readiness for Opening Day won't be affected. Mitchell hit .311 with eight stolen bases and a pair of home runs in 68 plate appearances as a rookie last year and appears set to open the year as Milwaukee's primary center fielder.

Mitchell had to be lifted from Thursday's game versus the Giants because of right hamstring tightness, but all indications seem to be that the Brewers were simply being cautious. There still has to be some level of concern with his readiness for Opening Day, especially since Mitchell's legs are so important to his fantasy value, but for now he's considered day-to-day.

The team said taking Mitchell out of the game was mostly a precautionary move, so Mitchell's hamstring likely won't impact his availability for Opening Day. The speedy outfielder has had an impressive spring thus far, slashing .353/.353/.941 with three home runs and six RBI through 17 plate appearances.

Mitchell went 2-for-4 a solo home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Mitchell got the start in center field Tuesday and capitalized by showing off both his power and his speed with a homer and a stolen base. The home run, a solo shot to right field to lead off the second inning, was his second of the season, and got the Brewers on the board. He also led off the sixth inning with a single and a stolen base base, his seventh of the season. In 64 plate appearances, the rookie has posted a strong .310/.365/.466 slash line.
