Astros' Joe Perez: Heads back to minors
The Astros optioned Perez to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Perez was up with the Astros for the weekend series in Seattle, but he didn't see any action Friday through Sunday. With Yordan Alvarez (illness) making his return from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Angels, Perez was the logical choice to move off the 28-man active roster.

Perez was called up by the Astros on Friday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Perez made a single pinch-hit appearance in his previous stint on the roster and is likely in line for similar usage this time around.
