Rojas is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the A's. Rojas still has not started against a southpaw since joining the Mariners, so it should come as no surprise that he is opening on the bench Monday with left-hander JP Sears on the bump for Oakland.... See More ... See Less

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Resting against lefty
Rojas is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels. Dylan Moore will start at second base in place of Rojas.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Gets breather Friday
Rojas isn't in the Mariners' lineup Friday against Tampa Bay. Rojas will take a seat Friday after going 3-for-15 with two runs scored through the first week of September. Dylan Moore will fill in at second base and bat ninth while Rojas sits.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: On base thrice in loss
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday. Rojas authored one of four two-hit efforts for the Mariners, posting his out of the bottom of the order. The trade deadline acquisition had been mired in a 2-for-15 funk in the seven games since his previous multi-hit tally, but a productive second half of August has helped Rojas maintain an impressive .282/.333/.436 slash line in 25 games with the Mariners thus far.... Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sitting against lefty
Rojas is not in Saturday's lineup against the Mets. With lefty David Peterson on the mound for New York, the Mariners will send most of their lefty bats to the bench, including Rojas. While Rojas has not drawn a start against a southpaw since getting traded to Seattle, he has been swinging a hot bat, slashing .357/.400/.554 with three home runs and four steals in 56 at-bats since Aug. 11. Jose Caballero is starting at second base and hitting ninth.... See More ... See Less -

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Out of Monday's lineup

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Hits double-digit steals
Rojas went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Royals on Sunday. Rojas made good use of his one trip on the basepaths, stealing second after drawing a fifth-inning walk, recording his 10th stolen base of the season and ultimately coming around to score on another home run by Julio Rodriguez. Rojas has now reached safely in seven straight games, a stretch during which he owns a .414 average with three extra-base hits, six RBI, two walks, four steals and 10 runs.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Goes deep in rout
Rojas went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and an additional run scored in Saturday's 15-2 victory over the Royals. Mariners' Josh Rojas: Stays hot Wendesday
Rojas went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss against the White Sox. Rojas drove in the Mariners' first run of the contest with a bunt single in the seventh inning before subsequently swiping his ninth base of the season. The 29-year-old Rojas has been on a roll of late, going 9-for-18 (.500) with a homer and three steals in his last four contests. Since joining Seattle, he's batting .294 with a .784 OPS over 15 games. Rojas has boosted his slash line to .242/.301/.329 with two homers, 36 runs scored and 34 RBI across 270 plate appearances between the Mariners and Diamondbacks this season.... See More ... Mariners' Josh Rojas: Slugs second homer
Rojas went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday. Rojas kept his bat hot with a 387-foot blast to right-center field in the fourth inning with Mike Ford aboard, doubling the Mariners' advantage to 4-1 at the time. The recent trade acquisition has launched both his homers on the season since arriving in Seattle and now carries a .353 average and .977 OPS across his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Keeps raking in Monday's win
Rojas went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a win over the White Sox on Monday. Rojas once again was undeterred by his spot at the bottom of the order, authoring one of a pair of three-hit efforts for the Mariners. It was the fourth multi-hit tally for Rojas over the last nine games, a span during which he's generated a .367 average and .940 OPS after opening his Seattle tenure in an 0-for-13 funk following his arrival from the Diamondbacks.... Mariners' Josh Rojas: Two steals in win
Rojas went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Astros. Rojas' two steals Sunday were his first since May 29 -- he's now 8-for-8 on stolen base attempts this season. The 29-year-old Rojas has been swinging the bat better of late, going 8-for-25 (.320) with a home run over his last eight contests while serving as Seattle's primary second baseman. Overall, Rojas is slashing .225/.286/.300 with 31 runs scored and 30 RBI across 256 plate appearances between the Mariners and Diamondbacks this season.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sits against southpaw
Rojas will sit against lefty Framber Valdez and the Astros on Saturday. Rojas has started 10 times since moving from Arizona to Seattle at the deadline, but all 10 of those starts have come against righties. Rojas actually owns a marginally higher wRC+ against lefties (92) than against righties (89) for his career, but the Mariners seem set on using him in a platoon role at second base. Dylan Moore will handle the keystone Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: First homer of season in win
Rojas went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in an extra-inning win over the Royals on Tuesday. Rojas' 380-foot shot to right field in the fourth inning with Jose Caballero aboard extended the Mariners' lead to 7-0 at the time and marked his first time leaving the yard all season. The 29-year-old is quickly putting a slow start to his Seattle tenure behind him, as he's now gone 6-for-14 with a double, Tuesday's homer, four RBI, a walk and six runs in his last five games.... Mariners' Josh Rojas: Multi-hit tally in loss
Rojas went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in a loss to the Royals on Monday. Rojas delivered a clutch RBI knock in the ninth, knotting the score at 5-5 at the time. After an 0-for-13 start to his Mariners tenure, Rojas' bat has come to life -- he's gone 5-for-10 with Monday's double, two RBI, a walk and five runs over the subsequent four contests.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Out of lineup
Rojas will not start Saturday's game against the Orioles. Rojas has started against five of the seven righties the Mariners have faced since he joined the club, but he's been on the bench against all three lefties, including Saturday's starter Cole Irvin. He's gone just 2-for-17 at the plate for his new team, so he isn't doing much to earn a sudden uptick in playing time. Jose Caballero will start at second base Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: First taste of Seattle success
Rojas went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Friday. The trade-deadline acquisition had received sparse opportunities and had yet to record a hit with the Mariners since arriving from the Diamondbacks, but that changed in a notable way Friday. Rojas, who has yet to leave the yard this season in 231 plate appearances, should have a chance to claim everyday playing time at second base and attempt to rediscover his mysteriously absent power stroke now that Kolten Wong has been jettisoned.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Josh Rojas: On bench Tuesday
Rojas is absent from the lineup Tuesday against the Padres. Dylan Moore will start at second base and bat ninth versus the Padres and right-hander Nick Martinez.
