Peralta (12-9) took the loss Monday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings against the Cardinals. He struck out six. Peralta's now allowed just one run in three of his last four starts while working to a 1.89 ERA in his last eight outings (47.2 innings). However, Willson Contreras' solo home run proved enough to stick Peralta with the loss Monday in a 1-0 defeat. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander sports a 3.71 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP and 206:54 K:BB across 29 starts (162.2 innings) this season. Peralta's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Marlins this weekend in his next outing.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Dazzles in 12th win
Peralta (12-8) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits over 6.1 innings against the Marlins. He struck out nine. For the fourth time in his last five starts, Peralta fanned at least nine batters, allowing him to hit the 200-strikeout mark, currently the sixth-highest figure in MLB. He's been especially dominant across his last nine starts (53.2 innings), boasting a 6-0 record to go along with a 2.01 ERA and an 82:11 K:BB. The 27-year-old is tentatively scheduled to make his next start in St. Louis against the Cardinals early next week.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Allows three runs in no-decision
Peralta did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the Pirates. He struck out four. After surrendering a solo homer to Ke'Bryan Hayes in the first inning, Peralta held the Pirates scoreless over the next four frames. However, the right-hander would go on to be charged with another two runs in the sixth before being relieved by Trevor Megill. Peralta recorded just four strikeouts in the contest, the fewest he's posted in a start since June 1, and he's now allowed a home run in three consecutive outings. Through two September starts he holds a 3.18 ERA to go along with a 14:1 K:BB.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Dominant versus Phillies
Peralta did not factor into the decision Friday, surrendering one run on two hits while striking out 10 batters over six innings in the Brewers' 7-5 win over the Phillies. Outside of a leadoff homer by Kyle Schwarber in the top of the first inning, Peralta was brilliant. The right-hander recorded at least 10 punchouts for the fourth time over his last seven outings, posting a 1.71 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 42 innings in those starts. Peralta's season-long numbers now sit at a 3.85 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 187 strikeouts over 145 frames in 26 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Continues strong stretch
Peralta (11-8) earned the win over San Diego on Saturday, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings. Peralta had to work for it -- he needed 94 pitches to get through 5.1 frames -- but the right-hander extended his win streak to five outings. He had his strikeout stuff working again in the victory, racking up 17 swings-and-misses and nine punchouts. Peralta has been dominant over his past six starts, posting a 59:10 K:BB over 36 innings along with a 1.75 ERA and 0.86 WHIP. He's been vaulting up the strikeout leaderboard and now ranks eighth in the majors with 177 punchouts on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Earns fourth straight win
Peralta (10-8) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Rangers. He struck out 11. Peralta was mostly dominant Saturday, striking out four of the first six batters he faced before surrendering two hits and two walks in the third, which led to one run coming home for Texas. He allowed just two singles from that point on while racking up double-digit strikeouts for the third time in his last five starts. The right-hander has won each of his last four starts and now owns a 1.82 ERA in August to go along with a 37:7 K:BB.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Continues run of dominance
Peralta (9-8) threw six shutout innings against the White Sox on Sunday to earn the win. He allowed four hits while walking three batters and striking out six. Peralta is on a torrid four-game stretch at the moment. Since July 26, he is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB in 25 innings while throwing four quality starts. He also recorded 64 whiffs over that span which is the most in all of baseball. When Peralta is at his best, he can be downright elite and has the potential to be a league winner down the stretch, but he'll have his work cut out for him when he faces the Rangers on the road his next time out.... Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Cruises to win
Peralta (8-8) allowed a run on one hit while striking out 13 without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win Monday over the Rockies. Peralta had an excellent start, with the lone blemish being Ezequiel Tovar's solo home run in the first inning. This was the second time in Peralta's last three starts that he dialed up 13 strikeouts, and four of his last five outings have been quality starts. He's now at a 4.28 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 151:45 K:BB through 122 innings over 22 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to face the White Sox on the road over the weekend.... See More ... Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Picks up seventh win
Peralta (7-8) earned the win Tuesday at Washington after he allowed three runs on six hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out seven. The right-hander was mostly able to keep the Nationals in check, though they struck for three runs on three hits and two walks during the second inning. There was also an out at the plate in the third to preserve the quality start, which is Peralta's third in four outings since the All-Star break. The 27-year-old has a 3.52 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB across 23 innings during that stretch after he finished the first half with a 4.70 ERA in 17 starts.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Tagged with six runs
Peralta (6-8) allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta. Peralta stumbled against a strong lineup and was taken deep twice, accounting for four of the six runs. He had given up three or fewer runs in five straight outings prior to Friday's ugly outing, and his ERA spiked to 4.72 with a 118:43 K:BB through 19 starts. Peralta's next outing is projected to come at home against the Reds next week.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Blanks Cincinnati
Peralta (6-7) earned the win Saturday, allowing one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings against the Reds. He struck out six. Peralta fired off six scoreless innings Saturday, marking his first scoreless outing since April 3, and set a season low in hits allowed. Though the 27-year-old has struggled this season with a 4.41 ERA, Peralta has maintained his strikeout arsenal, owning a 10.38 K/9 through 98 innings (18 appearances). Peralta will look to continue his post-All-Star break success in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come against Atlanta at American Family Field next week.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Racks up 10 strikeouts
Peralta did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a 6-5 victory over the Cubs. He struck out 10. Peralta allowed the leadoff man to reach base in three of the six innings in which he worked and the Cubs made him pay, with the final two runs off the right-hander coming on a Cody Bellinger home run in the sixth. Still, Peralta was able to limit the damage thanks to his 10 strikeouts, which matched his season high. He has now allowed at least three runs in three straight starts and in eight of his last 10. He's also walked at least three batters in three of his last four appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Takes another loss
Peralta (5-7) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings against the Guardians. He struck out five. Peralta picked up his seventh loss of the campaign, marking six starts since recording his last victory. Though he owns the seventh-most losses in MLB, Peralta has given up more than four earned runs in just two of his 16 starts thus far. After 81.1 innings, Peralta holds a 4.65 ERA and 1.33 WHIP to go along with a 1.5 HR/9 and a 2.7 K/BB. He'll have a solid chance to pick up a win in his next start, which is expected to come against a Mets team that has lost 14 of its last 19 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Strikes out nine in no-decision
Peralta did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings in a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh. He struck out nine. Peralta recorded at least nine strikeouts for just the third time this season and notched his eighth quality start of the year. Despite the strong outing Sunday, the right-hander continues to struggle with the long ball, allowing at least one home run in seven straight appearances (10 total). During that stretch, Peralta holds a 6.06 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 4.0 BB/9, but he's still been striking batters out at high rate, totaling 38 strikeouts over his last 35.2 innings (9.6 K/9). Peralta remains a steady part of Milwaukee's rotation, and his next start is lined up for a road matchup against the Guardians.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Nine strikeouts in no-decision
Peralta allowed two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out nine over five innings of work Tuesday against the Orioles. He did not factor into the decision. The only damage against Peralta was done on a second-inning, two-run homer by Aaron Hicks. Overall, he had one of his better performances in a while. He generated 20 whiffs, and his nine strikeouts were his highest total since he had 10 on May 2. He also did not give out any free passes for just the second time this year. Peralta has given up a home run in five straight starts and has surrendered 11 total on the season, which is something that has not been an issue for him over the duration of his career. The 27-year-old now owns a 4.55 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB across 65.1 innings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Struggles early in quality start
Peralta (5-5) took the loss Thursday in Toronto after he gave up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks over six innings. Peralta surrendered a solo shot and a two-run homer during the opening frame, which was enough to pin him with the loss since the Brewers' offense managed just a single run. The 26-year-old held the Blue Jays scoreless from there, but it's the second straight start in which he's allowed multiple long balls. He's also failed to record more than five strikeouts in any of his past five outings. Peralta has yet to find much consistency this year with a 4.62 ERA and 61:25 K:BB through 60.1 innings.... Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Early exit in rout
Peralta (5-4) took the loss Friday as the Brewers fell 15-1 to the Giants, coughing up 10 runs (but only four earned) on eight hits and a walk over 2.1 innings. He struck out four. The entire Milwaukee club lost focus early in the game after Willy Adames was struck in the head by a foul ball while in the dugout and taken to the hospital. Peralta's own error helped contribute to the six unearned runs on his line. The 26-year-old had four quality starts in his five prior outings, so given the circumstances he can get a mulligan on this performance. Peralta will take a 4.80 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 58:23 K:BB through 54.1 innings into his next start, likely to come on the road next week in Toronto.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Snares fifth victory
Peralta (5-3) earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings against Tampa Bay. He struck out four. Peralta did a fantastic job slowing down one of MLB's top offenses, giving up all three of his earned runs on one swing of the bat with Josh Lowe swatting a three-run home run to plate Randy Arozarena and Harold Ramirez in the fourth inning. After opening up the season with seven or more strikeouts in four of his first six starts, Peralta has struggled to replicate his swing-and-miss numbers over his last three appearances, striking out five or fewer in each start. After tough matchups against the Rockies at Coors Field, the Dodgers and the Cardinals prior to playing the Rays on Sunday, Peralta and his fantasy managers should expect a more productive outing in his next projected start, which will likely come against the Giants.... Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Stumbles to third loss
Peralta dropped to 4-3 on the season in Monday's 18-1 loss to the Cardinals, allowing six runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings. Peralta fell behind early, surrendering a three-run homer to Nolan Arenado in the first inning. He rebounded to allow just one more run over his following four frames, but his outing ended after putting on two of the first three batters in the sixth, with both runners eventually coming around to score. Peralta had been pitching well coming into the contest, notching three straight quality starts during which he allowed just five runs while posting a 23:5 K:BB over 18 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively slated to be a tough road matchup against Tampa Bay this weekend.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Yields one run in victory
Peralta (4-2) allowed one run on three hits and two walks over six innings against the Dodgers on Monday. He struck out five and earned a win. Peralta cruised through five scoreless innings with little issue before a Max Muncy groundout finally put the Dodgers on the board in the sixth. Over his last three starts, Peralta has given up five runs over 18 innings (2.50 ERA) while recording a 23:5 K:BB. He's allowed two or fewer runs in five of his first seven starts, resulting in a 3.32 ERA. Peralta is projected to take the mound in St. Louis next week.... See More ... See Less
