    Cincinnati placed Legumina on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right ankle contusion, Paige Leckie of reports.

    Legumina will miss at least two weeks while dealing with the ankle bruise. The Reds are bringing in a plethora of new arms, including Kevin Herget and Silvino Bracho, before Sunday's game against the Marlins to help stabilize the bullpen.

    Legumina was sent back to the minors to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Levi Stoudt, who was activated from the taxi squad ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Rays. During his first taste of the majors, Legumina made two appearances out of the bullpen, striking out four over 4.1 innings while allowing one run on three hits and one walk.

    Legumina was optioned Tuesday to Triple-A Louisville, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

    Legumina was acquired by the Reds from the Twins over the summer in the deadline deal for Tyler Mahle. The right-hander forged a 4.80 ERA in 33 appearances -- 16 starts -- over 86.1 innings between High-A Cedar Rapids and Double-A Wichita last season.
