The Reds recalled Legumina from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Frankie Montas (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Legumina made 11 appearances out of the Cincinnati bullpen in 2023 but has pitched exclusively for Louisville through the first month of the season, logging a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB in 10 innings. He'll likely handle a low-leverage relief role while he's up with Cincinnati.... See More ... See Less

Reds' Casey Legumina: Sent back to Triple-A
Cincinnati optioned Legumina to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. Legumina worked a scoreless inning of relief in the Reds' win over the Mariners on Tuesday, but he carries a rough 5.68 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB in 12.2 major-league innings this season. Lyon Richardson was recalled in a corresponding roster move and will get the start in Wednesday's series finale versus Seattle.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Casey Legumina: Activated and optioned
The Reds reinstated Legumina (ankle) from the 15-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville. Legumina struck out two over four shutout innings across four appearances between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and the Triple-A club during his rehab assignment, but the Reds didn't have room from him in the bullpen even though he had moved past a right ankle contusion. He'll stick around in Louisville but should rank near the top of the list for a call-up the next time Cincinnati requires an extra right-handed reliever.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Casey Legumina: Back on 15-day IL
Legumina was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder pain. Legumina just returned from the 15-day IL on June 11 following a bout with an ankle injury, but he'll now be unavailable for a couple weeks while nursing a sore throwing shoulder. The Reds called up Alan Busenitz from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday to replace Legumina in their bullpen.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Casey Legumina: Recalled from Triple-A
Legumina was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Louisville. Legumina will rejoin the Reds' bullpen ahead of their three-game weekend series against the Athletics, which begins Friday. He's allowed just one earned run through 4.1 major-league innings this year.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Casey Legumina: Dispatched to minors
The Reds optioned Legumina to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. Legumina was sent back to the minors to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Levi Stoudt, who was activated from the taxi squad ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Rays. During his first taste of the majors, Legumina made two appearances out of the bullpen, striking out four over 4.1 innings while allowing one run on three hits and one walk.... See More ... Reds' Casey Legumina: Sent to minor-league camp
Legumina was optioned Tuesday to Triple-A Louisville, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. Legumina was acquired by the Reds from the Twins over the summer in the deadline deal for Tyler Mahle. The right-hander forged a 4.80 ERA in 33 appearances -- 16 starts -- over 86.1 innings between High-A Cedar Rapids and Double-A Wichita last season.... See More ... See Less
