The Brewers reinstated Megill (paternity) from the restricted list Saturday. After moving Megill to the restricted list to give him extra time with his expanding family, the Brewers will get their flame-throwing reliever back a day later. After a rough start to the season, Megill has posted a 1.69 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 16 innings since Aug. 16, though the Brewers' immense bullpen depth has kept Megill from seeing many high-leverage opportunities. Clayton Andrews and Caleb Boushley were optioned to rookie ball in corresponding moves.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Moves to restricted list
The Brewers transferred Megill (paternity) to the restricted list Friday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, but his move to the restricted list will allow Megill to spend extra time away from the team. Manager Craig Counsell said the right-hander is expected to return to the team Saturday, so Megill's availability for the postseason seemingly won't be affected.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Placed on paternity leave
The Brewers placed Megill on the paternity list Tuesday. Megill will miss at least part of Milwaukee's three-game series against the visiting Cardinals as he welcomes a new addition to his growing family. Colin Rea has been summoned from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding roster move.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Working as opener
Megill will serve as the Brewers' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill is no stranger to this role, as he opened Milwaukee's matchup Wednesday against Miami and tossed a scoreless frame. The Brewers have yet to reveal who will enter as the bulk reliever, though Adrian Houser and Colin Rea should both be available.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Opening Wednesday's contest
Megill will serve as the Brewers' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. After giving up just one run and striking out 22 batters through 11.2 innings since Aug. 16, Megill will get an opportunity to make his first MLB start. Given that Megill hasn't thrown more than two innings in any of his appearances this season, he's unlikely to work more than once through the order before turning the game over to the bullpen. Wednesday would have been Colin Rea's turn in the rotation, so he'll presumably work as a bulk reliever behind Megill.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Trending up in August
Megill threw two scoreless innings in Sunday's 10-6 victory over the Padres. He allowed three hits, struck out five batters and walked none. Megill was tasked with getting the final six outs with the Brewers holding a four-run lead heading into the eighth inning, and he delivered despite giving up a trio of hits. He does not occupy a key role in Milwaukee's bullpen, but he has been as stingy as they come since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville in mid-August, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings while posting a 0.68 WHIP and 13:0 K:BB over six appearances.... Brewers' Trevor Megill: Recalled from Nashville
Milwaukee recalled Megill from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Megill will return to the Brewers' bullpen ahead of Tuesday night's game against the Dodgers as J.C. Mejia (shoulder) heads to the injured list. Megill, 29, carries a 5.09 ERA and 1.53 WHIP through 17.2 major-league innings this year.... See More ... See Less -

Megill made only one appearance out of the Milwaukee bullpen during his five-day stay in the majors and gave up two earned runs on four hits in two innings. Brewers' Trevor Megill: Back in majors
The Brewers recalled Megill from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. With Justin Wilson (lat) headed back to the injured list, Megill will be brought back to the major-league club as Wilson's roster replacement. Megill holds a 4.60 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through 15.2 frames this season and will almost certainly be limited to low-leverage situations while in Milwaukee.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Optioned to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Megill to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. With the acquisition of Carlos Santana from Pittsburgh on Thursday, Megill will head back to the minors to free up a spot on the Brewers' roster. The 29-year-old righty holds a 4.60 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through 15.2 innings, but he could return to Milwaukee later this year if the Brewers are ever in need of a fresh bullpen arm.... See More ... Brewers' Trevor Megill: Optioned to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Megill to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Prior to Wednesday, Megill had gone six consecutive appearances without giving up a run. However, he was lit up for three runs over 1.1 innings during a loss to Arizona and will now return to the minors where he holds a 9.95 ERA through 12.2 innings this season. The Brewers have yet to announce a corresponding move, but a bullpen replacement should be added prior to Friday's game against Cleveland.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Picks up three punchouts
Megill tossed a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 5-0 victory over the Pirates. Megill got a chance to finish Saturday's contest with the Brewers up a handful of runs, and after allowing a single to the first batter he faced, he slammed the door by striking out the next three. Megill has primarily been used in mop-up duty, but he has been effective of late, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while giving up just three hits and posting a 7:2 K:BB over his last five appearances.... Brewers' Trevor Megill: Summoned from Triple-A
The Brewers recalled Megill from Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Megill was acquired via trade from the Twins at the end of April and is now set to make his debut with his new club. The 29-year-old has spent all of this season at the Triple-A level, holding a 9.95 ERA over 10 relief appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Dealt to Milwaukee
The Brewers acquired Megill from the Twins on Sunday in exchanged for a player to be named later and cash considerations, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Megill appeared in 39 games for the Twins in 2022 with a 4.80 ERA and 1.49 WHIP along with a 49:17 K:BB over 45 innings. The right-hander was ineffective with Triple-A St. Paul with a 13.03 ERA in seven appearances, but he'll head to Milwaukee to provide some pitching depth with an outside shot to join the big-league bullpen before the season is over. He's initially expected to report to Triple-A Nashville with his new organization.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Trevor Megill: Moved off 40-man roster
The Twins designated Megill for assignment Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for reliever Brock Stewart, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul. Megill holds an ugly 13.03 ERA and 16:13 K:BB over 9.2 innings with St. Paul this season. He'll now be subject to the waiver process but is expected to go unclaimed.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Trevor Megill: Moves to Triple-A
Megill was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Megill made 39 appearances out of the bullpen for Minnesota last season and had a 4.80 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 49:17 K:BB across 45 innings, but he won't make the Opening Day roster after he allowed eight earned runs in 6.2 frames this spring. The 29-year-old should join the big-league club at some point this season but is likely to be limited to low-leverage work.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Trevor Megill: Sidelined with oblique strain
The Twins placed Megill on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left oblique strain. Aaron Sanchez was called up from Triple-A St. Paul to join the bullpen as a replacement for Megill, who was removed from his relief appearance in Sunday's loss to the Tigers due to the injury. Megill will close the 2022 campaign with four wins, three holds, a 4.80 ERA and 1.49 WHP in 39 appearances spanning 45 innings.... See More ... See Less -
