Jimenez had been a top prospect in the system from 2019 to 2022, but he never translated his athleticism into production and topped out at the High-A level in the organization's minor-league system.

Jimenez has gone 6-for-14 (.429) with a home run, two steals, three RBI and two runs across his first three games at High-A Greenville this season.
He's fallen off the prospect map a little due to his modest power and last year's poor stolen-base success rate, but it's worth keeping in mind that Jimenez has done nothing but succeed at each level of the minors so far -- and he's just 21 years old. Continued success in Greenville could get him promoted to Double-A by midseason, so he at least bears watching in dynasty formats.

He's actually been piling up the hits in general recently, having posted a .346/.416/.489 line across his last 22 games. Jimenez still isn't showing much power -- he's stuck on two homers -- and he's not running nearly as much as you'd expect from a guy with his speed who's hitting .316 on the year. Despite his flaws, he remains an intriguing prospect.

Jimenez is hitting .305/.336/.400 with two homers, 10 steals, 30 RBI and 36 runs across 51 games for Low-A Salem.
Speed and average have always been his calling cards, and it's been more of the same this season, though Jimenez -- never regarded as a big slugger -- has actually taken a step backward in terms of power. Of the 64 hits he's pounded out, 50 have been singles. Considering how many times he's stood at first base, it's actually a bit disappointing that he only has 10 swipes. His 5:47 BB:K is a black mark on his line as well; not many players manage to strike out that often and walk that little while still hitting for average. There's still potential for a solid major leaguer here, but the development of Jimenez's power and patience will be key to determining whether he ends up as a top-of-the-order fixture or a fourth outfielder.

Jimenez received an invitation Friday to Boston's major-league spring training, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
The 20-year-old is one of the Red Sox's top prospects and will receive the chance to showcase himself at big-league camp. Jimenez's only minor-league experience came at rookie ball in 2019, where he posted a .359/.393/.470 slash line in 59 games. He should open the 2021 campaign in the lower minors regardless of how he looks this spring, but it could be an invaluable experience for the young outfielder.
