The Dodgers reinstated Grove (lat) from the 15-day injured list Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The 26-year-old has been on the shelf since early August due to tightness in his right lat, and his return will force Gavin Stone off the major-league roster. Grove allowed a walk and struck out three over two scoreless innings in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Giants.
Grove worked the seventh and eighth innings and helped preserve the Dodgers' shutout. Grove hasn't pitched for Los Angeles since Aug. 5, when he went 1.1 innings as an opener. The right-hander landed on the injured list the following day due to lat soreness and has made just one rehab appearance since, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three batters for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sept. 7. It's not clear what Grove has been doing to rehab since, but it appears that he could nonetheless return to the Dodgers, likely as a bullpen arm, as soon as Monday, when the team begins a seven-game homestand against Detroit and San Francisco.

It has already been determined that Grove will be returning to the Dodgers as a reliever, so this should be a relatively brief rehab stint even though he's been sidelined for over a month due to lat tightness. Grove (2-3) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out 10 over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Reds.
It wasn't pretty, as the Reds were ahead 3-0 after the first inning and 7-0 after the third before taking their foot off the gas. Grove hadn't pitched poorly in July, but this outing could be enough for him to lose his rotation spot to Lance Lynn, who is set to make his Dodgers debut Tuesday. Grove is at a 6.75 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 63:28 K:BB through 62.2 innings over 14 appearances (11 starts). It's unclear if Grove will be moved to the bullpen or optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City should he ultimately be taken out of the starting mix.

Grove allowed two runs on eight hits and struck out six without walking a batter over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Monday.
Grove was decent aside from the eight hits, throwing 48 of 68 pitches for strikes in the short start. It was just the second time all season he's avoided walking a batter. The right-hander is now at a 6.19 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 53:17 K:BB through 56.2 innings over 13 appearances (10 starts). Grove should stick in the rotation for another turn at home over the weekend versus the Reds. He may eventually lose his major-league roster spot with Noah Syndergaard (finger) and Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) working back from injuries.

Grove was solid Tuesday, holding Baltimore to a single run on an Aaron Hicks double in the second inning.
