Reds' Mike Siani: Optioned to Triple-A
Siani was optioned Sunday to Triple-A Louisville by the Reds, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Siani was battling for a backup outfield spot with Cincinnati, but instead the outfielder will open the season in the minors and receive regular playing time. He could be an up-and-down option for the Reds in 2023.

Siani showed no concussion symptoms after he exited Tuesday's loss at Pittburgh with a head injury, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Reds' Mike Siani: Gets call from Triple-A
The Reds selected Siani's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.
Siani will join the Reds for the final two weeks of the season after Nick Senzel (toe) was moved to the 10-day injured list to clear a spot for the 23-year-old on the 28-man active roster. Before his recent call-up to Triple-A, Siani had spent the entire 2022 campaign at Double-A Chattanooga, slashing .254/.353/.406 with 12 home runs and 49 stolen bases across 531 plate appearances. Though his speed-based production could particularly make him someone worthy of keeping an eye on, Siani could be limited to a depth role in his initial taste of the big leagues.

Reds' Michael Siani: Recovered from Achilles' injury
Siani (Achilles) missed a few weeks in the Arizona Fall League last fall, but he should be fine for the start of minor league spring training, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Siani struggled with the bat at High-A Dayton last year, hitting just .215/.320/.325 in 410 plate appearances. His strikeout percentage has jumped from 17.1 percent in rookie ball in 2018 to 20.5 percent in Low-A in 2019 to 25.4 percent last season. He'll report to minor league spring training a week early next week.

Reds' Mike Siani: Invited to alternate site
Siani was added to the Reds' 60-man player pool Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Siani has plus speed and a pretty good chance to stick in center field, but it's unclear if his bat will be good enough for him to make it as an everyday player. If it all clicks, he could be a Kevin Kiermaier type for fantasy. He is at least a couple years away from the majors.
