  • Mariners' Jose Rodriguez: Outrighted to Triple-A

Rodriguez was outrighted Friday to Triple-A Tacoma, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. • Mariners' Jose Rodriguez: Shifts to MiLB camp

The Mariners reassigned Rodriguez to minor-league camp Monday. Rodriguez submitted three scoreless relief appearances during Cactus League play, but the 27-year-old right-hander never merited serious consideration for a spot in Seattle's Opening Day bullpen after having toiled in the minors over both of the past two seasons. He spent the 2022 campaign in the Mets organization, pitching to a 4.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 68:36 K:BB across 76.1 innings.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Clears waivers

Rodriguez cleared waivers Thursday and has been outrighted to the Angels' alternate training site. Rodriguez lost his spot on the 40-man roster when he was designated for assignment Monday, but he'll remain with the Angels and train with their satellite squad for the time being. The 24-year-old has appeared in only one game with the big club this season, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings against Houston on Aug. 2.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Designated for assignment

Rodriguez was designated for assignment by the Angels on Monday. The right-hander turned in 1.2 scoreless frames for the Angels back on Aug. 2, but he was subsequently optioned and has now lost his spot on the 40-man roster. Rodriguez is still only 24 years old, though he does not throw hard and clearly the team did not see him as close to developing into a viable bullpen piece.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Sent to satellite camp

Rodriguez was optioned to the Angels' alternate camp site Thursday. This move comes as the Angels look to shave their roster down to 28. Rodriguez made just one appearance during his brief stint with the big club, allowing a pair of hits and a walk across 1.2 scoreless frames.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Contract selected by Halos

Rodriguez had his contract selected by the Angels on Saturday. The 24-year-old had a 2.75 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over 19.2 innings with the Angels last season, but he was removed from the 40-man roster in December. Rodriguez should fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Part of 60-man roster

Rodriguez will be part of the Angels' 60-man roster. Rodriguez was outrighted off the 40-man roster in December, but the right-hander will still get an opportunity to break camp with the big-league club in the shortened season. He did see some success with the Angels in his first major-league appearances in 2019, posting a 2.75 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 19.2 innings. He'll provide bullpen depth in this shortened season.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Takes loss as opener

Rodriguez (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk over two innings Sunday, striking out one batter and taking the loss against Houston. Rodriguez allowed two homers to George Springer that accounted for all three runs he allowed. Still, Houston scored 13 runs, so he wasn't the only Angels pitcher to get shelled Sunday. The rookie right-hander now owns a 3.24 ERA in 16.2 innings this season.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Throwing first 50 pitches Sunday

Rodriguez will start Sunday's game against the Astros and get up to around 50 pitches before handing the ball to Jose Suarez, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports. He is currently working on a streak of nine scoreless innings over his last four appearances, having thrown exactly three innings in each of his last two outings. Given this planned usage, he won't qualify for a win.

  • Angels' Jose Rodriguez: Rejoins big-league club

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday. Rodriguez has allowed three runs (all solo homers) over 5.2 frames in his first taste of the majors this year.
