Manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Henry (elbow) still has not started his throwing program and he may be "past the point of no return," Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Lovullo said last week that there was a chance Henry returns in a bullpen role before the end of the season, but his chances appear to be fading. If Henry isn't able to begin his throwing program within the next few days, it's certainly possible the D-backs shift their focus to getting Henry ready for the start of spring training next year.

Henry has been on the 15-day IL since July 30 and will now be ineligible to return until the Diamondbacks' final series of the regular season versus Houston in late September. The move created a spot on the 40-man roster for Nabil Crismatt, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, manager Torey Lovullo said Henry won't require surgery after an MRI ruled out any structural damage to his elbow, but the southpaw will still be barred from throwing for about a week before Arizona outlines a more precise timeline for his return. Some shaky defense by Geraldo Perdomo did him no favors, but Henry created plenty of problems for himself, as he tossed only 47 of 88 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. Henry has now allowed five runs in each of his last two starts without completing five innings in either one of them. The southpaw showed flashes of greatness in his seven-inning scoreless performance May 31 against the Rockies, but he hasn't been able to consistently put it all together this year. The second-year pitcher currently sports an unimpressive 4.86 ERA and 1.38 ERA.
Henry did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a 10-5 victory over Washington. He struck out two.
Henry allowed a season-high five runs Tuesday, giving up four in just one swing of the bat as Stone Garrett swatted a grand slam in the first inning. He also tied his shortest start of the campaign after getting pulled in the fifth at 81 pitches. The 24-year-old has been excellent at Chase Field, sporting a 2.49 ERA across 25.1 innings compared to a 6.75 ERA over 20 innings on the road. However, he is tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Tigers in Detroit.
