Aldridge announced his retirement from basketball Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Aldridge attempted to make an NBA comeback earlier this season and worked out for the Mavericks in February, but he ultimately never got a contract. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft was a seven-time All-Star and averaged over 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds seven times during his 16-year career.... See More ... See Less

LaMarcus Aldridge: Set to work out for Dallas
Aldridge is scheduled to work out for the Mavericks on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The 37-year-old big man is attempting to make his way back into the NBA, and while he shouldn't be expected to command much fantasy value if he signs with Dallas, he could provide some added depth to a frontcourt that's currently missing Davis Bertans (calf) and Maxi Kleber (hamstring) due to injuries. While with the Nets last season, Aldridge averaged 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 block over 22.3 minutes per game across 47 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Makes first appearance in a month
Aldridge closed Tuesday's 118-105 win over the Rockets with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist over 17 minutes. Aldridge was cleared to play March 27 against the Hornets after missing the Nets' preceding nine games with a right hip impingement, but he registered four straight DNP-CDs following his removal from the injury report. The veteran's return to the rotation was lackluster at best as he was held scoreless across 17 minutes. Before the hip issue, Aldridge had scored in double figures in seven of his last nine appearances, but currently, it appears like Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton have a stronghold on the center position.... Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Remains out of rotation
Aldridge (coach's decision) went unused in Sunday's 122-115 loss to the Hawks. Aldridge was cleared to play March 27 against the Hornets after missing the Nets' preceding nine games with a right hip impingement, but he still has yet to return to the Brooklyn lineup. With four straight games in which he didn't see the court in coach's decisions, Aldridge simply looks to be out of head coach Steve Nash's rotation at the moment. Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton look poised to finish the regular season as the Nets' primary centers.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Not listed on injury report
Aldridge (hip) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Hornets. Aldridge is expected to return to action following a nine-game absence due to a hip injury. It's unclear how big of a role the veteran may have, but it's certainly encouraging to see him back in the mix.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Expected to return next week
Nets coach Steve Nash said Saturday that Aldridge (hip) is lined up to return to game action next week, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Aldridge has missed each of Brooklyn's last eight contests, and he won't play in either game during the team's back-to-back set this weekend. However, indications are that he's improving and on track to return within the next week. He could realistically take the court as soon as Tuesday against Detroit.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Out at least another week
Nets head coach Steve Nash said Sunday that Aldridge (hip) will be sidelined for at least another week as he continue his rehab, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports. Aldridge underwent an MRI last week, and while initial scans on his hip don't reveal any structural damage, the veteran big man is still struggling to be cleared for game action. In his absence, Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton are expected to handle the majority of the minutes at center.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Out another week
Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash said Saturday that he expects Aldridge (hip) to be sidelined for at least another week, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Aldridge underwent an MRI earlier in the week, and while initial scans on his hip didn't reveal any structural damage, the veteran big man apparently needs more time to heal up. While Aldridge is sidelined, Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton are expected to continue handling most of the open minutes at center.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Out for two-game road trip
Nets head coach Steve Nash said that Aldridge (hip) has returned to Brooklyn and will be out for road games Tuesday in Charlotte and Thursday in Philadelphia, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Aldridge is scheduled to undergo an MRI while he's back in New York, even though initial scans on his hip didn't reveal any structural damage. For the time being, Aldridge's injury is being characterized as an impingement of his right hip, the same one for which he required an arthroscopic procedure earlier in his career during his time in Portland. The Nets are likely to provide an update on Aldridge following the road trip, but for at least the next two games, Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton are expected to cover most of the minutes at center.... Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Won't play Tuesday
Aldridge has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against Charlotte due to a right hip impingement. Aldridge scored 14 points (7-10 FG) across 23 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Celtics, but he apparently picked up a hip injury as well. In his absence, Nicolas Claxton and Blake Griffin are both candidates for increased roles behind Andre Drummond.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Moves back to bench
Aldridge will come off the bench Thursday against the Heat. The veteran big man started Tuesday against Toronto and put up 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes, but he'll return to the bench with Andre Drummond (knee) rejoining the lineup. Aldridge should fill a lesser role off the bench Thursday, especially with Kevin Durant (knee) also back in the mix.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Flirts with triple-double in loss
Aldridge ended Tuesday's 109-108 loss to the Raptors with 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds and three assists over 29 minutes. Aldridge stepped into the starting lineup with Andre Drummond ruled out due to a knee injury, falling just one rebound short of a double-double. It's been an up-and-down season for the veteran and the arrival of Drummond appears to have put a pin in any chance Aldridge had of being a standard-league asset. He can be utilized for streaming purposes on nights such as this but is likely to be more of a deeper-league commodity for the rest of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Starting Tuesday
Aldridge will start Tuesday's matchup against the Raptors, Chris Milholen of NetsDaily.com reports. With Andre Drummond (knee) resting a sore knee, Aldridge joins the starting five at center, marking the Nets' 35th different starting lineup this season. As a starter this year, he's averaging 14.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 27.9 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Scores 15 points in blowout loss
Aldridge posted 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one block across 20 minutes during Monday's 133-97 loss to Toronto. Aldridge logged 20 minutes off the bench, turning in what was actually a decent fantasy line, especially given the end result. With Andre Drummond arriving in Brooklyn, Aldridge has been relegated to a backup role, limiting his opportunities. The veteran has been a fringe 12-team asset all season long, but given his current trajectory, he is better suited to deeper formats moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Double-doubles off bench
Aldridge logged 18 points (7-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 111-106 win over New York. Aldridge and Andre Drummond once again split time time at the center position, as Blake Griffin (eight minutes) and Nicolas Claxton (DNP) took a backseat. Aldridge scored in double figures for a second straight contest and notched his first double-double since Nov. 22. When healthy, Aldridge has been a consistent scorer for Brooklyn and should continue to garner plenty of opportunities as long as Kevin Durant (knee) and Ben Simmons (not injury related) remain sidelined.... Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Excels in return to action
Aldridge (ankle) produced 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds and one block in 19 minutes during Monday's 109-85 win over Sacramento. In his return from a seven-game absence, Aldridge was part of a near-even timeshare at center with the newly acquired Andre Drummond, who started and played 24 minutes. Meanwhile, Blake Griffin (three minutes) and Day'Ron Sharpe (two minutes) picked up the scraps at the center and likely won't be part of the rotation on more competitive nights. However, Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) was also cleared to return from a multi-game absence Monday, and while he didn't play, it's possible he could be part of a three-man committee at center in the games to come. If that's the case, Aldridge would be tough to count on to contribute consistently, even though his performance Monday was undoubtedly impressive.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Not listed on injury report
Aldridge (ankle) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's matchup with the Kings. Aldridge has been sidelined for seven consecutive contests, but it appears he will be available Monday. However, it's unclear how big of a role he will have, as the Nets are also expected to get Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) back from a four-game absence. Plus, Andre Drummond (trade pending) could also be making his Brooklyn debut.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Out for two-game road trip
Nets head coach Steve Nash said that Aldridge (ankle), who has already been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Wizards, won't be joining the team in Miami for its matchup Saturday with the Heat, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. James Harden (hamstring) won't be joining the Nets for its two-game road trip either, with both players set to remain in Brooklyn to continue their respective rehabs from injury. Aldridge hasn't played since Jan. 29 due to the left ankle sprain, and he could be subject to a minute restriction whenever he eventually returns to the lineup. Meanwhile, Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday's contest after missing Brooklyn's last two games, so if he's sidelined in Washington, the Nets would likely turn to Blake Griffin and Day'Ron Sharpe to cover most of the minutes at center.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Won't play Tuesday
Aldridge (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Celtics, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Aldridge will be sidelined for a fifth consecutive contest due to a sprained left ankle. Fellow big man Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) is questionable, so Blake Griffin, James Johnson and Day'Ron Sharpe could all be in line for increased roles once again.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' LaMarcus Aldridge: Out for remainder of road trip
Aldridge (ankle) will miss at least the Nets' next four games, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. An MRI on Aldridge's left ankle revealed what appears to be a fairly severe sprain, as the Nets were comfortable ruling the veteran out for the remainder of their five-game road trip, which concludes Sunday at Denver. It's unclear how much time Aldridge will ultimately miss, though coach Steve Nash said he's hopeful that the big man will be able to get back on the floor before the All-Star break.... See More ...
