  • Donatas Motiejunas: Returns to China

Motiejunas agreed to terms in July on a contract with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, Nicola Lupo of Sportando.com reports.

Motiejunas played in the CBA for the past two seasons with Shandong Golden Stars, so he's no stranger to the Chinese game. After his most recent CBA campaign ended, the 28-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Spurs in the spring, but appeared in just three regular-season contests. Motiejunas was unable to parlay his stint with the Spurs into a new deal or contract offers from other NBA teams, so he'll look to impress overseas again before potentially returning stateside next spring.

  • Spurs' Donatas Motiejunas: Ready to make team debut

Motiejunas is available to play in Wednesday's matchup with the Nuggets, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

With Motiejunas having resolved the visa issues that prevented him from reporting to San Antonio, he was finally able to put pen to paper on the contract he agreed to more than a week ago, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The big man should be ticketed for a depth role behind Jakob Poeltl and LaMarcus Aldridge at center and isn't a lock to be included in the Spurs' regular rotation. Motiejunas, who had been playing in China for the past two seasons, last appeared in the NBA in 2016-17. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game in 34 outings with the Pelicans.

  • Spurs' Donatas Motiejunas: Dealing with visa issues

Motiejunas has yet to make his Spurs debut while he continues to work to secure a visa allowing him to travel to the United States, Lithuanian basketball journalist Donatas Urbonas reports.

Motiejunas came to terms with the Spurs on a contract more than a week ago and was expected to offer depth in the frontcourt after the team cut Pau Gasol. The visa issues have delayed his arrival and could prevent Motiejunas from entering the San Antonio rotation before the regular season comes to a close, though the Spurs remain optimistic the big man's situation will ultimately be resolved before long.

  • Spurs' Donatas Motiejunas: Nearing deal with Spurs

Motiejunas is finalizing a contract with the Spurs, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Motiejunas has spent time with the Rockets and, more recently, the Pelicans, but he's been playing overseas in China for the better part of the last two years. With the CBA season concluded, he'll return stateside to provide some added frontcourt depth down the stretch for a Spurs team that bought out Pau Gasol.

  • Donatas Motiejunas: Heading to China

Motiejunas has agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract with the Shandong Golden Stars of China, Tomas Langvinis of 15min reports.

Motiejunas spent 34 games on the Pelicans last season, posting 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds across 14.1 minutes per game while shooting 41.3 percent from the field. His new deal is just for one season, so the possibility still remains that he comes back to the NBA next season if he performs well overseas.
