After missing the previous 11 games with a left shoulder subluxation, Powell returned to the L.A. rotation and ended up taking on what had typically been a standard workload prior to him missing time with the injury. Kawhi Leonard (personal) was away from the Clippers on Wednesday, and if he joins co-star Paul George (knee) in sitting out Friday's rematch with Memphis, it's possible that Powell could see a slight uptick in playing time now that he's gotten a game under his belt.

Powell progressed to 1-on-1 work earlier in the week, but he remains without a firm return timetable while working his way back from a dislocated left shoulder. After Friday, the Clippers will kick off a weekend back-to-back set with a home game Saturday versus Orlando before traveling to Portland on Sunday. Even if Powell is cleared to resume taking contact the same day he's re-evaluated, he'll almost certainly be sidelined for at least the first half of the back-to-back set, and most likely both ends of it. Before suffering the left shoulder subluxation, Powell had averaged only 21.0 minutes per game off the bench over his most recent three contests. That level of playing time could make it difficult for him to re-emerge as a useful option in 12-team leagues while the Clippers are otherwise at full strength.

Although Powell has proven invaluable as a primary driver of the offense on various occasions throughout the season, the Clippers are more than happy to have him serve as their sixth man while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are at full health. Reggie Jackson (19 points) surged back onto relevancy Tuesday, but it was Powell who played more pivotal minutes while Jackson did more of his damage in garbage time.
