Kings' Harrison Barnes: Nets three-year extension
Barnes and the Kings agreed Thursday on a three-year contract extension worth $54 million, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The news comes as no major surprise, as Barnes was instrumental in Sacramento's rise up the Western Conference standings. Barnes appeared in all 82 games during the 2022-23 season, averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.6 three-pointers while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Look for him to play a significant role once again next season due to his ability to play both forward spots.

Kings' Harrison Barnes: Abysmal line in final game
Barnes totaled four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT) across 14 minutes during Sunday's 120-100 loss to the Warriors in Game 7 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Barnes totaled 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and one rebound over 34 minutes during Thursday's 114-97 loss to Golden State in Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Barnes accumulated 17 points, but as usual, he added very little outside of scoring. It's hard to reason with the fact he grabbed just one rebound in 34 minutes. While he continues to be a scoring threat, his lack of overall production is concerning at this point.

Barnes has been the definition of steady to start the opening-round series against his former team. Barnes tweaked his ankle at the end of Wednesday's practice, but he's been omitted from the injury report, indicating he will claim his usual role for the Kings on Saturday. Barnes closed the regular season averaging 15.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 29.0 minutes in the last five games, but he figures to log 30-plus minutes in the team's playoff run.

Kings' Harrison Barnes: Hurts ankle, expects to play
Barnes suffered a minor tweak to his ankle at the end of Wednesday's practice but expects to play Saturday against the Warriors, Brenden Nunes of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Barnes started all 82 regular-season games for the Kings this year and appears to be on track for Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round despite his ankle issue. He scored in double figures in his final six regular-season appearances, averaging 14.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game.

Kings' Harrison Barnes: Another unexciting performance
Barnes provided 16 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one assist and three steals in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 121-103 victory over New Orleans.
Despite scoring in double digits again Tuesday, Barnes failed to get anyone excited with his performance. While the three steals were certainly a nice bonus, given he is averaging just 0.7 per game, it's reasonably safe to assume this was just an outlier. He is technically a standard league asset, although he is also a perfect example of a ranking not necessarily providing a true reflection of a player's impact.
