Jones will come off the bench in Game 3 against the Lakers on Saturday, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports. As expected, Jones heads to his regular bench role with Ja Morant (hand) returning to the starting unit. Jones notched 10 points, six rebounds and eight assists during the Grizzlies' win in Game 2 of the series.... See More ... See Less

Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Steps up in Morant's absence
Jones contributed 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 103-93 win over the Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Jones moved into the starting unit with Ja Morant (hand) sidelined, and as has been the case in other games, he delivered a solid performance on both ends of the court. Jones can operate as a starter and be a reliable fantasy asset, but his role ahead of Saturday's Game 3 will be directly tied to Morant's availability.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Starting Game 2 sans Morant
Jones will join the first unit for Game 2 against the Lakers on Wednesday, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports. Jones will be inserted into the starting point guard spot with Ja Morant (hand) sidelined. In Memphis' Game 1 loss, Jones totaled nine points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal across 25 minutes, but should see over 30 minutes of action Wednesday. In 22 regular-season starts, Jones averaged 16.4 points, 8.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 33.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Receives green light for Game 1
Jones (foot) will play in Sunday's game against the Lakers. Jones joined several of the Grizzlies' rotation pieces on the sidelines for the regular-season finale with a foot issue but was taken off the injury report ahead of Sunday's tilt. Jones should be expected to retake backup point guard duties behind Ja Morant and play a meaningful role in the team's postseason run.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Not playing Sunday
Jones (foot) is out of Sunday's game against the Thunder. The Grizzlies are resting all their starters and key players in the regular-season finale, and Jones won't take the court as a result. Jacob Gilyard, Luke Kennard, John Konchar and David Roddy could all see significant backcourt roles given all the absences the Grizzlies will have in this contest.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Unlikely to play Sunday
Jones (left foot soreness) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Oklahoma City. Jones is doubtful for Sunday's regular-season finale with a foot issue and could sit out considering the Grizzlies have nothing to play for. Considering Ja Morant (hand), Desmond Bane (knee) and Dillon Brooks (groin) are also doubtful, Jacob Gilyard, Luke Kennard, John Konchar and David Roddy could all see significant backcourt roles.... Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Headed back to bench
Jones isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Bucks, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports. Jones will be replaced by Ja Morant in the starting lineup Friday. Jones is averaging 6.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 rebounds in 18.1 minutes across his last 10 appearances coming off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Claims ninth double-double
Jones played 43 minutes in Wednesday's 138-131 overtime loss to the Pelicans, tallying 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 assists, eight rebounds, four steals and one block. With Ja Morant (hip) sitting out for the second half of the back-to-back set, Jones moved into the starting five and once again brought value for those who activated him, just as he did when Morant missed nine straight games in March while serving a suspension. Jones came away with his ninth double-double of the season, made more than half of his shots from the field and contributed excellent rebound and steal totals to deliver positive returns in four different categories for fantasy managers.... Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Starting Wednesday
Jones will enter the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports. Jones will draw the starting nod in place of Ja Morant (hip), who will be sidelined for the contest. In 21 starts this season, Jones has averaged 16.6 points, 8.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals over 32.8 minutes. He should hold streaming appeal.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Not on injury report
Jones (foot) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Clippers. Jones missed Wednesday's game against the Clippers due to a foot issue, but he'll be back in action Friday following a one-game absence. Over his last five appearances, he's averaged 12.2 points, 7.0 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Ruled out Wednesday
Jones (foot) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Clippers. Jones was handed a doubtful designation for Wednesday's game with soreness in his left foot and will end up watching the contest from the sidelines. With Desmond Bane (foot) and John Konchar (hip) also absent, Luke Kennard, David Roddy and Kennedy Chandler could each see upticks in playing time. Jones' next chance to play will come Friday in a rematch with the Clippers.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Doubtful for Wednesday
Jones (foot) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game versus the Clippers. Jones is coming off a poor night from the floor, failing to connect on any of his seven attempts from beyond the arc. He could sit out the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday, but Ja Morant (thigh) is off the injury report to pick up the slack at point guard.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Prominent peripheral production
Jones ended with seven points (3-12 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Tuesday's 113-108 victory over the Magic. Jones moved back into the starting lineup Tuesday, filling in for Ja Morant, who was out due to a minor thigh concern. While he did manage to score only seven points, he provided managers with ample production across a range of other categories, proving his worth as one of the best streaming options out there. While it doesn't sound as though Morant is going to miss significant time, Jones is probably worth holding a little longer, given his recent play and the fact Memphis is all but locked in to the second seed in the Western Conference.... Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Gets starting nod
Jones is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus Orlando, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports. Jones will replace Ja Morant (thigh) in the starting lineup Tuesday. Jones is averaging 17.1 points, 8.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 32.5 minutes across his previous 20 starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Slides to second unit in win
Jones amassed 13 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and five assists across 23 minutes during Sunday's 123-119 victory over Atlanta. Jones shifted back to the bench in the win, ceding his starting position to Ja Morant. It was only a matter of time until the Grizzlies opted to get their franchise player out there with the starters, putting a cap on Jones' overall appeal moving forward. He remains a name to consider when in need of assists and steals but as for what he has been able to do over the past few weeks, that is now a thing of the past.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Won't start Sunday
Jones isn't starting Sunday's game against the Hawks, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. Ja Morant will make his return to the starting lineup Sunday after coming off the bench in his first two games following time away from the team, pushing Jones to his usual reserve role. Across 53 bench appearances this season, Jones is averaging 8.0 points, 3.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Goes 7-for-10 from field in win
Jones finished Monday's 112-108 win over the Mavericks with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six assists, two rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes. After piling up 24 assists over his previous two games, Jones took a step back in that area Monday, but the efficiency he displayed from the field helped to make up for it. Jones has been a roster-worthy player in nearly every format for the past two weeks with averages of 16.3 points, 8.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers and 1.3 steals in 33.7 minutes in his nine games since ascending to a starting role, but his fantasy value is likely to take a significant hit as soon as Wednesday against the Rockets. Ja Morant is likely to return from his suspension to unseat Jones on the top unit Wednesday, but with Dillon Brooks in line to sit out the contest while serving a one-game ban, Jones may still be needed to fill minutes off the ball alongside Morant.... Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Ties career high in assists
Jones finished Saturday's 133-119 victory over Golden State with 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), two rebounds and 14 assists across 30 minutes. Jones was outstanding as Memphis' lead point guard, tying his career-high mark with 14 assists without turning the ball over. He chipped in 13 points on a 6-for-11 mark from the field to notch his eighth double-double of the campaign. Fantasy managers who swooped up Jones upon the news of Ja Morant's suspension have been reaping the rewards for the past two weeks, but the good times may soon come to an end. Morant could return next week, which would result in Jones returning to a reserve role.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Shines with triple-double
Jones closed Friday's 126-120 overtime victory over San Antonio with 20 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in 42 minutes. The Grizzlies mounted the biggest comeback of the season against San Antonio, and Jones played a pivotal role in the win, notching a triple-double for the first time in 2022-23. Jones has thrived in a starting role with Ja Morant (suspension) sidelined, scoring in double digits in each of his seven outings with the first unit and averaging 16.9 points, 7.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds in that span. Jones should remain a strong play across all formats as long as Morant remains out.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Tyus Jones: Dishes game-high 10 assists
Jones registered 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, 10 assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Saturday's 112-108 victory over Dallas. Jones made only two of five shots for four points in the first half but served as the primary facilitator for the Grizzlies' offense with seven assists entering the break. He added seven points in the second half, with four of them coming at the free-throw line, while dishing out another three dimes to finish with a game-high 10 assists on the night. Jones has now recorded a double-double in back-to-back games and in three of his last four. He's also scored in double figures in four straight, as he continues to thrive in the absence of Ja Morant due to continued personal time away from the team.... See More ... See Less
