Top Trey Lyles News

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Overcoming illness

Lyles (illness) is available for Sunday's regular-season finale versus Portland, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Lyles will suit up for his ninth consecutive contest Sunday, joining a fully healthy Kings frontcourt. Sacramento is destined for the Play-In Tournament, but the exact seeding remains on the line.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Battling illness

Lyles is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers with an illness.

Lyles didn't appear on the Kings' initial injury report for the regular-season finale that was released Saturday, so the illness may have been something that cropped up overnight. The Kings will likely see how he recovers over the next few hours before making a decision on his status shortly before the 3:30 p.m. ET tipoff. Since making his return to action March 31 following a nine-game absence due to a left knee sprain, Lyles has appeared in each of Sacramento's last eight contests while averaging 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 three-pointers, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in 21.5 minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Double-double in Brooklyn

Lyles had 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 29 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 107-77 victory over the Nets.

It's the first double-double of the season for Lyles in his 54th game. The veteran forward has scored in double digits in four of five contests since returning from a knee injury, and he's averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 boards, 2.2 assists, 2.0 threes and 0.8 blocks in 24.0 minutes a game over that stretch.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Posts 11 points in return

Lyles (knee) logged 11 points (3-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block across 19 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 127-106 win over the Jazz.

Making his return from a nine-game absence due to a left knee sprain, Lyles led the Kings' second unit in scoring thanks largely to his hot shooting display from downtown. Though Lyles has split time between both frontcourt spots this season, his minutes largely came as a backup power forward Sunday while Alex Len logged 12 minutes behind starting center Alex Len. Since Len doesn't present much of a perimeter scoring threat, Lyles could have the opportunity to see reserve minutes at both power forward and center if head coach Mike Brown elects to tighten his rotation in future games. With that in mind, Lyles might be someone to keep an eye on over the final two weeks of the regular season in case his role expands. For the time being, though, his fantasy utility will mostly be contained to deeper leagues.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Available Sunday

Lyles (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Jazz, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.

Lyles has missed the last nine games due to a left knee sprain, but he will return to the lineup Sunday. Prior to the injury, Lyles had been a mainstay off the bench, averaging 20.1 minutes per game over his last 15 healthy appearances.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Questionable to face Utah

Lyles (knee) is questionable to face the Jazz on Sunday.

Lyles could return after missing the previous nine games due to a lingering knee sprain. The power forward hasn't stepped on the court since March 12. He's averaging just 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds across 18.6 minutes per game since the All-Star break, so his return shouldn't impact many fantasy decisions either way.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Out at least two weeks

The Kings announced Friday that Lyles will be re-evaluated in two weeks while he contends with an MCL sprain his left knee, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.

Lyles suffered the injury during the second quarter of Tuesday's win over the Bucks. Given his two-week re-evaluated timeline, Lyles will presumably miss at least the Kings' next eight games. In Lyles' absence in Wednesday's 120-107 win over the Lakers, Chris Duarte reclaimed a spot in Sacramento's rotation, though he played just eight minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Won't play Wednesday

Lyles (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Lakers.

Lyles left Tuesday's win over the Bucks early after bumping knees with Brook Lopez on a rebound, and the former will miss at least one additional game after being diagnosed with a left knee sprain. The veteran's next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus the Knicks.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Gets boards in win

Lyles chipped in seven points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 130-120 win over the Lakers.

Lyles is averaging 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 22.2 percent from three in 20.0 minutes since the All-Star break. This is a far cry to his first 39 games played this season where the forward averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds on 40.5 percent from deep in 20.0 minutes. Due to the lack of depth at the forward position, expect Lyles to continue receiving opportunities off the bench.

Lyles (illness) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Nuggets, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Lyles (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Lyles missed Tuesday's game due to illness, and his minutes were divvied up between Harrison Barnes, Alex Len and Kessler Edwards. It'll be more of the same if he's out again Wednesday, but with no shootaround on the second leg of a back-to-back, Lyles will essentially be a game-time call.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Out Tuesday

Lyles (illness) won't play in Tuesday's game against the Suns.

This will be Lyles' first missed game since Jan. 7. The Kings also play Wednesday versus the Nuggets, but it remains to be seen if Lyles will be able to return for that contest. In the meantime, the Kings will likely need Harrison Barnes and Keegan Murray to soak up even more minutes.

  • Kings' Trey Lyles: Appears on injury report

Lyles is questionable for Tuesday's game against Phoenix due to an illness.

The Kings will likely wait and see how Lyles if feeling closer to the 10 p.m. ET tipoff before making a call on his status. If Lyles ends up sitting out, starting forwards Harrison Barnes and Keegan Murray could be called upon to play heavier minutes than usual, and the Kings could clear a spot in the rotation for one of Chris Duarte or Kessler Edwards.

Lyles ended with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes during Monday's 103-94 win over the Grizzlies.
