Bane finished with 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, nine assists and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 108-94 victory over the Clippers. Bane returned to action following a one-game absence due to rest and a nagging foot injury, but he looked impressive here and came up one assist short of recording what would've been his first double-double since Jan. 4. Bane has been on a tear of late and has scored at least 20 points in each of his last five appearances, averaging 24.6 points while shooting 54.3 percent from the field in that span.... See More ... Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Will face Clippers
Bane (foot) will suit up for Friday's clash against the Clippers. Bane and a handful of teammates rested during Wednesday's loss to the Clippers, but he'll return for Friday's rematch. Bane has reached double digits in scoring over the past 11 games, averaging 22.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals during this stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Out Wednesday
Bane (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. As expected, Bane will be joining Jaren Jackson (calf), Tyus Jones (foot) and John Konchar (hip) on the sidelines for Wednesday's game, which should result in some extended minutes for Luke Kennard and David Roddy. Bane's next chance to play will come in a rematch with the Clippers on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Doubtful Wednesday
Bane is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Clippers due to right foot soreness. Bane has been productive recently, posting 20-plus points in six of his last seven appearances, including a 31-point effort to go with five assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 113-108 win over the Magic on Tuesday. However, the Grizzlies are expected to hold out several players for the second half of a back-to-back set Wednesday, with Bane likely being among the group of resting players. Luke Kennard, David Roddy and Dillon Brooks are candidates to see increased run against the Clippers.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Scores 25 in 20 minutes
Bane chipped in 25 points (10-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 20 minutes during Friday's 151-114 victory over Houston. The Grizzlies poured in 151 points against the Rockets, the second highest amount in franchise history (152). Bane and Luke Kennard caught fire from beyond the arc, combining for 15 three-pointers. Bane has been outstanding over the past five games for Memphis and for fantasy managers, averaging 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.6 triples.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Dishes out seven assists Wednesday
Bane finished Wednesday's 130-125 win over the Rockets with 20 points (6-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes. Even with Ja Morant playing 24 minutes off the bench in his return from a nine-game absence due to a suspension and for conditioning purposes, Bane was able to retain a key playmaking role. He tied with starting point guard Tyus Jones for the team lead in assists, though both Bane and Jones are likely to notice some downturn in the category once Morant steps back into the starting five and reclaims his usual minutes. Bane averaged 5.1 assists while Morant was sidelined the past nine games after previously averaging 4.0 per game for the season prior to that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Fills stat sheet Friday
Bane posted 21 points (10-22 FG, 1-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals across 39 minutes during Friday's 126-120 overtime victory over the Spurs. Bane wasn't efficient from the field and needed 22 shots to score 21 points, but he still provided a strong fantasy line and tons of value due to his peripheral stats. Bane has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games and is averaging 20.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game across nine March contests.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Ejected Wednesday
Bane was ejected Wednesday after committing a Flagrant 2 foul, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Bane was called for the penalty after hitting Kevin Love below the belt in the third quarter. He will exit the contest with 11 points (4-11 FG), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and five turnovers across 22 minutes of play. Luke Kennard, John Konchar and David Roddy are candidates to see increased run for the remainder of the contest. Fantasy managers can expect Bane to be back in action Friday in San Antonio.... Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Thriving as playmaker sans Morant
Bane finished Monday's 104-88 win over the Mavericks with 23 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes. Bane has now accrued at least five assists in six straight games, exceeding his season-long average (4.3 per game) on every occasion. The increased assists production comes as little surprise with Ja Morant (suspension/personal) sitting out the last five of those contests, and even though Tyus Jones has averaged 7.8 dimes per game of his own since entering the starting lineup as a replacement at point guard, the loss of Morant has still left some vacated usage on offense that has been absorbed by Bane. Morant is without a clear timeline to rejoin the team, so look for Bane to continue enjoying an uptick in his overall production for the foreseeable future.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Game-high 25 points in win
Bane chipped in 25 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), eight assists and seven rebounds in 35 minutes during Saturday's 112-108 win over the Mavericks. Though he knocked down only two of his seven field-goal attempts in the second half, Bane still led both sides with a game-high scoring total on the back of a big first half. With Ja Morant (suspension/personal) having now missed each of the past four games, Bane has benefited from a modest uptick in involvement in the offensive end, averaging 17.5 field-goal attempts and 6.3 assists over that span. Both averages are up from his season-long marks of 16.2 and 4.2 per game, respectively.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Scores team-high 30 points
Bane finished with 30 points (12-22 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one block over 35 minutes during Sunday's 135-129 loss to the Clippers. With Ja Morant (suspension) absent, multiple players needed to step up, and Bane certainly delivered. Sunday's total marked Bane's second 30-point game over the past week. As long as Morant is away from the team, we should see more scoring totals in that range for Bane.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Pops for 30 points
Bane provided 30 points (12-17 FG, 6-9 3Pt), nine rebounds, six assists and one block across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 113-99 win over the Rockets. Bane was lights out en route to his first 30-point game since Nov. 9 and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, falling one short of his second double-double of the campaign. Since the start of February (11 appearances), the third-year shooting guard has averaged 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals in 30.9 minutes per game. During that stretch, he's shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from deep.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Strong showing in loss
Bane logged 25 points (10-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and two assists over 32 minutes during Thursday's 110-105 loss to the 76ers. Bane looked sharp coming out of the break by shooting 50.0 percent from the field and leading his team in scoring. He's now scored 20 or more points in three of his last four contests, averaging 21.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals over this stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Nets 24 points in win
Bane finished Wednesday's 117-111 win over the Jazz with 24 points (9-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 32 minutes. With Ja Morant (20 points on 8-for-26 shooting from the field) enduring a rough night, Bane and Jaren Jackson (26 points) picked up the slack and helped lead Memphis to the win column. The stat line was one that is becoming fairly standard for the third-year wing, who heads into the All-Star break with season-long averages of 21.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.0 triples and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per contest.... Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Hits for 18 in Sunday's loss
Bane closed with 18 points (7-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven assists, six rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 119-109 loss to Boston. The 24-year-old guard continues to provide steady secondary scoring for the Grizzlies. Bane has scored at least 14 points in 20 straight games, averaging 20.3 points, 5.0 boards, 4.2 assists, 2.8 threes and 1.3 steals over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Productive outing in win Friday
Bane closed Friday's 128-107 win over Minnesota with 20 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals across 32 minutes. Bane reached the 20-point mark for the third time in five games since returning from a two-game absence due to a knee injury, but given how good he's been all season long, that should be the standard for him right now. The shooting guard is averaging 21.3 points per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field since the start of January.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Scores 17 against Chicago
Bane ended with 17 points (6-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 104-89 victory over the Bulls. Bane has scored at least 17 points in each of his four appearances since returning from a two-game absence in late January, and the star shooting guard remains a consistent scoring threat in the backcourt alongside Ja Morant. Even though at times he's been the third-best scoring weapon behind Morant and Jaren Jackson, Bane continues to have a career-best season with averages of 21.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game since the start of January.... Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Impressive showing in losing effort
Bane finished Sunday's 106-103 loss to the Raptors with 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists, four steals, two rebounds and one block in 33 minutes. Though he fell 12 points short of matching his season-high scoring total, Bane might have turned in his best overall fantasy line of the campaign thanks to the immense production in the two defensive categories. After missing two straight games to close out Week 15 due to a sore right knee, Bane proceeded to play in all three of the Grizzlies' Week 16 contests and averaged 22.7 points, 4.0 three-pointers, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 assists and 0.7 blocks in 30.3 minutes while shooting 52.1 percent from the field.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Good to go Wednesday
Bane (knee) will take the floor Wednesday against the Trail Blazers. Initially labeled questionable, it appears Bane's knee is doing well enough for him to return following a two-game absence. The 2020 first-round pick notched at least 20 points in six of the last seven games prior to his absence and will aim to get back on that path against a Portland club that ranks fifth-worst in the league in defensive efficiency.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Questionable for Wednesday
Bane (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Portland. The third-year wing has already missed the last two games with soreness in his right knee, so his status will be worth monitoring closely as the Grizz head into a Wednesday/Thursday back-to-back set. Bane, of course, missed significant time earlier this season due to a toe injury, but he returned to action on Dec. 23 and went on to appear in 16 of Memphis' next 18 games prior to this latest two-game absence. Over his last 10 contests (Jan. 8 through Jan. 25), Bane averaged 21.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.1 made threes (50.8% 3Pt).... See More ... See Less
